I guess they'd have to throw in another player and/or cash. I'm all for moving Magloire since they aren't going to use him. I like Boki, but if he's not in the plans past this season, might as well get something while they can.

This would be a great deal. Mike Miller would be a Godsend for what the Nets want to do. He is the epitome of a pure shooter.
This is interesting. Do they follow this with that rumored Carter for JO? If they do, not sure I like Harris as the primary ball handler in an O. -Petey

That they are asking about Mike Miller kind of implies that they are not tanking the season, which is fascinating. The Carter-for-JON deal just doesn't make any sense to me. How will you juggle minutes between JON, Krstic, Boone, Smokey, and Diop and Swift, if you think they'll contribute. Even if they have no plans to resign Diop, the only way this would make any sense is if they have already decided that they won't resign Krstic, and that Swift doesn't really have a future here. I just don't get it. It seems to be a bigger step backwards than forwards.

I think him and Harris will make a good backcourt. And without another SG on the roster it makes no sense. Miller is too slow to defend guards. I can see him off the bench covering either the 2 or the 3, but I wouldn't put him at the 2 for long stretches. It would depend on the match-up. With the salary savings of Kidd gone Miller will be a good fit. Hope they can get Lowry too and dump Marcus.
Carter for JON is doubtful at best. JON is a cripple right now. He isn't going to miraculously heal in a week. I honestly vote that this team gives their current big man rotation a try instead of crippling either Boone or SWAT's development by eventually putting a soft, candy ass loafter in the 4 spot for 35 minutes a game. We have saved some money in the cap. We can target a scoring big in the off-season if thats what they deem as their primary need. Harris, Carter, RJ, Boone, Krstic with Miller, Swift, George, Diop et al. coming off the bench is better than Harris, Miller, RJ, JON, Krstic with George as our primary swing off teh bench.
JO deal is not goin to happen. Thorn is not goin to trade away a healthy player for an oft injured one that makes more than carter. no way! if anything theyll try and trade carter for a package like they got for kidd not to bring in a bigger salary. I like this mike miller trade if it goes through, both boki and miller are the same age Miller has 3 yrs left at $8million per so its not that bad of a contract to take on. The deal would have to look like this to work Boki, Magloire, and DA ESPN TRADE MACHINE Memphis would rid themselves completly of millers contract becuz they would receive 3 expiring contracts. With the kidd trade our team would look like this Harris/Marcus VC/Miller/Ager RJ/George Kristic/ Swat/ Swift Boone/Diop

i thought it was great to get miller WITH kidd here. with him gone i would still like to get him. this year has been a clusterfuck all year and im sure it will finish that way. i've said this before, now i think we gotta move vince's contract to gain more flexibility. vince for JO, i think this would be a pray 10x a day type of trade. JO's salary ends a year earlier than vince's. that is when you can clear cap for someone named LeBron (yes i know its not happening, but if your management you gotta put yourself in a position to get one of the most dominant players in the game and one of the most marketable players for brooklyn). like many people i've grown frustrated with vince and what scares me is what vince will look like in a year or two. i rather take a chance on big man getting paid big money than vince. i really dont see getting JO as making us instant contenders, but if JO could get healthy he would be more valuable to us with harris and if we get miller. i would also, if we get JO, would tell him to just shut it down this year. let him take as much time as possible to get as healthy as possible and hopefully we can get a good draft pick to add to this team next year. it seems like at one point we were stuck without any leverage or flexibility. now all the sudden we are talkin about draft picks, expiring contracts, younger guys coming in without going into a full rebuilding mode with 22 year olds. you know this franchise wants to stay somewhat competitive and have someone to market, so at least JO would be a big name that you would bring back for vince. it sure has been an interesting 24-48 hours. if we could end up with harris and miller by all-star break it think that would be amazing work done by rod and kiki. im sure memphis is getting better offers though.

Come on people, we bitch all the time about not having a shooter. I like Mike Miller, and if we can move Carter, he's a perfect backcourt-pairing with Harris. Harris-Miller-RJ-Boone-Diop is a very, very nice starting 5. I'd be very happy with that.

better offers? their main concern is to clear cap space. I dont kno how many teams out there are in the same position or even have the expiring contracts like we do to make this possible. It works out perfectly for both teams
