<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (NetsDaily)</div><div class='quotemain'>ESPN's Marc Stein, who broke news of the Jason Kidd trade Wednesday, is now reporting Mark Bartlestein, Devean George's agent, is flying to Dallas to meet with team officials. George's refusal to leave Dallas and his Bird rights had thrown a monkey wrench into the eight-player, three-pick deal. Bartlestein also said the teams "have asked us to take today to reconsider everything and we said we'd do that." The teams have until 3 p.m. EST <u>next </u>Thursday to complete the deal.</div> Mavs forward George blocks trade of Kidd to Mavs - Marc Stein - ESPN Blocking deal isn't in George's best interests - Tim MacMahon - Dallas Morning News Blog I hope to god they get things figured out. Here's something to think about: <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (MacMahon)</div><div class='quotemain'>The early Bird rights only apply if the Mavs are willing to sign George to a deal that exceeds the salary cap. You can count on Mark Cuban letting agent Mark Bartelstein know that the Mavs have no intention of doing so and won't play ball on a sign-and-trade deal, either. In other words, Cuban can make those early Bird rights meaningless.</div> I mean, George and Bartelschtick aren't that dumb, are they? After this shindig, I can't see any chance of a re-signing happening.

Richard is smart. He is taking on leadership duties already as he see's this teams potential and location in the playoffs and just wants to get a move on. Pretty low of George or his agent to waste so much time.
