[Based on a survey of 242 NBA Players]

FAST FACTS: Poll was completed before O'Neal was traded from the Heat to the Suns last week.... Bryant particularly unnerves forwards, who gave him more than 41% of their vote.... Among players 35 and older, 63% voted for Bryant, who led the league in points, field goals and field goal attempts this season, as well as the last two.

This is an expanded version of the NBA poll from the February 18, 2008 issue of Sports Illustrated.</div>

It goes from 35% to 12%. Nobody else even came close. Keep in mind this was voted on by his own peers, other players who have actually played against the likes of Kobe, Lebron, and Wade (who wasn't even voted), not by the people who sit on the couch and watch the games.

    Great find Brian.

I've never heard of such a poll before I wonder if this is the first one?

This might mean a lot more to Kobe since it's coming from his peers than the MVP award.

This should be the year Kobe should win the MVP, Shape.

Shaq being number 2 is funny.

There was another one a while ago where they asked NBA players who they thought were the most underachieving players in the league. Kwame came in first, followed by Tim Thomas, I believe.

Personally, I'd find this more of a compliment than the MVP award.

Yeah I'm aware of that poll, but I was wondering if this was the first year they released these type of surveys for NBA players to vote on or not. It would be interesting to see a history of which players were voted Most Intimidating throughout the course of the NBA seasons and compare it to the actual MVP winner from the respective season.

Interesting find. I think the voters should take memo of this also when they have to vote for MVP. When you're peers give you this much respect, maybe the media should start contemplating doing so as well and give him what he's due, and that's a freaking MVP, something he hasn't even finished in the top 2 in, ever.

That's a really cool poll, but I would've expected KG to be tops. He's got such an intense demeanor and looks downright scary when he's riled up. I remember reading a story about a game this season where he essentially trashtalked the entire Portland TrailBlazers team into submission.

i remember an older survey that said AI was the most intimidating player. and next to shaq he was the player that coaches had to change their defenses against the most.
