<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>As the New Jersey Nets and Dallas Mavericks feverishly worked to convince Devean George to join in the trade for Jason Kidd on Thursday, there suddenly loomed another issue that could obliterate the proposed deal: the loose lips of Jerry Stackhouse. The NBA will investigate the possibility the Mavericks and Stackhouse violated league rules with a prearranged agreement for the forward to return to Dallas after reaching a contract buyout in New Jersey and sitting out the 30-day waiting period, sources said. Several league sources said the NBA will consider forbidding Stackhouse to re-sign with the Mavericks this season as punishment for public comments the forward made on Wednesday that suggested tampering could have occurred. If it comes to that, the deal is dead. Dallas owner Mark Cuban wouldn't complete the trade for Kidd without a belief that he could bring back Stackhouse this season. Ultimately, sources say, Mavericks management decided that losing Stackhouse would be too hard of a hit to the Mavericks' depth, too steep a price to pay for Kidd.</div> http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=aw-s...o&type=lgns
If the trade doesn't go through because of George and Stack I'm boycotting the NBA. Deal after bullshit deal but when the Nets finally get a break on their side after years and then they veto it, I'm done.

Deal after bullshit deal but when the Nets finally get a break on their side after years and they veto it, I'm done.</div> Somebody should compile a list of all the cheating, bullshit trades the NBA has let through over the years. The rules are so restrictive that it's almost impossible to make one without a little fudging of some rule. Cuban is starting to back off. Look at this quote. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Cuban said he is not frustrated that the trade has been halted. "I was never that excited about it in the first place," Cuban said. "There are pluses and minuses to every discussion that we had. If someone wants to hand me a bargain, I'm going to take it. But this is no bargain."</div> Link. I never really thought this trade was in jeopardy until this morning. Now I'm getting extremely upset.
I love how the NBA will investigate this and act like they had no idea Stackhouse was going to re-sign with Dallas after this deal.

OH MY ****ing GOD, if cuban changes his mind now thanks to devean ****ing george i will murder him and stack to
this is all to make the nba look "good" trust me this will not hold up the deal or else mark cuban would really be on their asses, even more so then he gets on them now lol i really wouldnt look too much into this, the nba is aware this happens all the time but they would just like it for players to keep it hush hush, stackhouse messed up so now theyre gioin to have a pretend investigation to please the other nba executives

If that was the case, then a comment like Cuban's would be predictable as the only way to get Thornepedia off their additional demands. Again, it's quite possible that he's being honest, but if I was part of Thorndumpedia, I'd ask for more just to see the reaction.

Does anyone actually know if KVH is willing to suit up and travel with the Nets for the rest of the season? That's what Aaron McKie is being forced to do. He seems happy about it. KVH might not be too thrilled.

what i don't like though is how executives are protesting this. if Stack wants to resign with Dallas it should be his choice not the NBA's, and executives should just reliaze thats where he wants to be.

I still think the hold up is related to Kidd being an Eastern All-Star and the league not wanting to adjust the rosters. The trade will go down after the All-Star game.
