If you don't like the rule STERN change it in the offseason.
WAIT A MINUTE. So Stern doesn't change the rules to let Amare and Diaw play when they clearly did nothing wrong; thereby pretty much giving the Championship to the Spurs. But...He'll fuck with the Nets and the Mavs on a trade, and not let them do something perfectly legal with the rules of the NBA. <span style="font-size:18pt;line-height:100%"><u>BULL</u> <u>----</u></span>
I think the players association needs to step in on this. They can't restrict player movement. Stern will be busy this weekend.
Somebody post the NBA rule that says a player can't be released and re-signed by the team that traded him. I know they put in that 30 day rule, but where is this other rule written?

Either way it looks more and more like KVH will have to be involved if this deal is to get done. If it wasnt for George the deal wouldve been done wed. on a side note the mavs r crazy if they think the nets r takin hassells contract, thorn will take a pass and just keep kidd for that matter
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>"If Stackhouse had kept quiet, the league would not have been able to prove anything," a Western Conference executive said. The executive added that team owners have been calling commissioner David Stern to complain about the Stackhouse part of the deal, and that several GMs would have been incensed if he had allowed the trade -- and subsequent return of Stackhouse to Dallas -- to go through. "Every GM from a potential playoff team in the Western Conference is complaining about this,'' the executive said. Either it's a rule or it's not. Since it's not, any one of those clowns can (and would) do the exact same thing. If it isn't in the CBA, how does it affect the credibility of the CBA? This makes no sense.

The Mavs and Nets are both playing by the rules as stated. This is some Grade-A bullshit. I agree that buyouts are getting out of hand, but the way to deal with that is by fixing it in the offseason, among a meeting of the owners, not by blocking trades that "violate the spirit of the rules." This is some Grade-A bullshit. Don't even get me started on how ****ing dumb Stackhouse and his dumb ****ing mouth are. God damn it.
