It is believed Thompson will be making his college decision fairly soon, most likely choosing Florida State. He had a monster junior season with over 2,000 yards and 30 touchdowns.

Thompson has great hands and thus I think he would make a terrific slot receiver. He is a bit on the small side, standing at only 5'8", but can still make an impact in a college backfield as well. He has great vision and cut back ability, and is surprisingly physical given his smaller stature.

Madison County's Thompson commits to FSU | Tallahassee.com

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Eventually the Florida State football coaches will receive a commitment from a player outside the Big Bend area. But until that day comes, they might as well snatch up all the local talent they can get for the 2009 class.

And on Thursday they landed yet another big-time local prospect when Madison County junior Chris Thompson publicly announced he will wear the garnet and gold.

“I thought about making the decision Monday or Tuesday when I talked to my parents,” Thompson said. “I really just wanted to get the 2009 class started toward a great class. I wanted to get people wanting to go to Florida State.”</div>
