H54L, honestly, get off his nuts. GG was dominated, plain and simple. You say Dwight only did 3 dunks, well that's all GG did. He did an under the leg twice, he just took his shoes off the second time. And honestly, while it makes traction harder to come by, it's still not an overly impressive feat, especially considering it was the exact same dunk as he did before. Face it dude, Dwight Howard was more creative, had better dunks, and quite frankly, dominated the competition. GG had no chance, especially after that double alley-oop dunk Dwight did.
Gerald Green was a dissapointment. With the way you were hyping him up before the contest, I expected a lot more out of him. I wouldn't say Gerald Green got robbed, because he didn't. Getting robbed was when the judges picked Nate Robinson over Andre Iguodala years ago.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (GMJigga @ Feb 17 2008, 04:10 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>H54L don't be an idiot. Gerald Green was the biggest joke of the dunk contest. I don't even know how you can say he put up 4 dunks, his last 2 were the same dunk just slightly different details. He wasn't as creative, he wasn't as dynamic, he didn't deserve to win at all. I mean honestly it was just pathetic watching him do the same between-the-legs dunk over and over. Gerald Green would be an impressive dunker if this was 2000-2002. Now he's a joke. He's not even a basketball player, he's a dunker, and he can't even be good at that“? FEAR finishing out his basketball career overseas. (oh, and Dwight's superman may not have been a dunk, but I think that's a moot point. I felt that whatever-you-want-to-call-it was much more impressive than a dunk. Being able to get so high than you can throw the ball down through the net is ridiculous)</div> Yeah, what people don't notice, though, is that Dwight did that off TWO FEET instead of ONE, like Jamario Moon and every other player who's tried to take off from that distant. If you people don't think that's difficult to do, then idk what the hell to tell you. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (hustler @ Feb 17 2008, 01:26 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>lol the only thing to talk about Green was how Darryl Dawkins threw his shoe off the table.</div> Damn, I wish I could get a picture of Green's shoes, or Dawkins knocking them off the table. I saw that distance on TV and it dont look that far. He didnt even grab rim. Its a dunk contest I want someone to pull the rim down.
I liked how Dr. J was breaking down Green's dunk. I think in part he felt sorry for him. Also because as he said people didn't understand how hard it's to do what he did w/o sneakers on. Can't be comfortable to land from that height on his heels. Ouch. Even the pounding it took just to run. Regardless I thought D12 won it. -Petey

http://youtube.com/watch?v=Ze-jwWGeR4M Many of you are blinded by Dwight Howard's comedy act that you missed just how great of a performance Gerald Green had. Gerald did some of the most difficult dunks imaginable and just got disrespected by the judges, announcers, and fans. Watch this video and it will tell all.
Seriously, this is getting ridiculous. Do you really need multiple threads to bitch and moan about this? Honest to god. The thing was a god for sake exhibition. Who the hell cares about the outcome. Enough with the pathetic immaturity.

But anyways, this is getting so stupid. You're guys are acting like someone stole an MVP trophy away from him or something. I mean, this time you can't say the judges cheated him, even the fans voted this time. What more do you want? He lost to Dwight fair and square.

As Charles noted, he has a lot of time to come up with dunks as he isn't getting much playing time. -Petey
The judges, players, and 80% of basketball fans worldwide thought Howard was the better dunker. H53L it's not even close.
Someone please tell me what was difficult about Green's cupcake dunk? What impresses you about that dunk? It is exactly that - a CUPCAKE dunk!

It's nothing special, creative I guess, but nothing special.
