Is this rumor legit, or is this some idea being thrown around by Nets Fans.

If the proposed deal (below) is approved tomorrow. Im wondering if the Mike Miller deal would still be possible with just Boki and Mags because the salaries dont match. The only way it works on trade machine was if we included either DA or Antoine along with boki and mags. We would be taking on more salary in return for miller. I dont know much about how trade exemptions work, so im wondering if this trade exemption we would be receiving would allow the nets to do this. Anyone know how trade exemptions work? would it still be possible with our trade exemption?

    To Mavs:
    Kidd
    Antoine
    DA
    Malik

    To Nets:
    Harris
    Diop
    KVH
    Hasell
    (2) 1st rd picks (08 & 2010)
    (1) 2nrd pick (08)
    trade exemption

boki and mags doesnt work salary wise for miller.

the only way it worked salary wise was boki mags DA or boki mags and antoine

either way were sending memphis one of the 1st rd picks we get from dallas in the deal as well

the thing i want to know is if its still possible just to send them boki and mags even tho we take on more salary back

how exactly does our trade exemption work?

Boki+Magloire+Krstic works. I wouldn't want to have to include a first with that though Memphis may need it. We can always sign someone ala McKie/KVH, I believe we have a few we could sign for the minimum.

if this is turned into a three-way deal, KVH, Magloire, and one of Dalas' picks can be sent to Memphis for Mike Miller . . . the Nets would then keep Boki.

    Something else is up.

Van Horn is willing to do this to play for NJ, I don't think he'd agree to do this for Memphis.

Apparently he would need to show up and be actively involved with the team.

the deal is complicated as is by itself , theres no way it turns into a 3way and KVH is not goin to suit up for memphis.

He likes the nets, thats why he would only suit up for us the next few months and he comes away with 4million

he'll be waived after one day. Maybe the Nets will pick up Bobby Jones, who is just as good as Antoine Wright.

this trade works and I like it way better:
    Miller/Navarro for Nachbar/Magloire/M. Williams+#1pick

Navarro can definitely shoot the ball.

I don't think they can do that.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Another potential complication could be the use of Van Horn. Numerous past examples exist of teams involving players no longer in the league and who have no intention of playing just to make the trade work, and the league appears to be taking a tougher stance to ensure that the player is simply not a trade chip on paper.

That was the case in the recent Pau Gasol trade when the Lakers included Aaron McKie, a player whose rights they controlled as he worked this season as a volunteer assistant with the Sixers.

McKie, who played last season, agreed to join the Grizzlies. He signed a contract and is on the roster. Van Horn hasn't played since 2005-06 with the Mavs. He chose not to play last season, but did not file retirement papers with the league.

Cuban said he has not spoken to Van Horn, who lives with his family outside of Denver. But if the former forward is included, it too, could involve a league investigation.

"I know he did not play last season, but he's a relatively young guy," said Joel Litvin, the NBA's president of league and basketball operations. "If put into a sign-and-trade, we would ask the same questions we asked about Aaron McKie, namely, is he planning on resuming his career? It's on a case-by-case basis."</div>
