Assuming that the Jason Kidd deal gets done, which at this point, looks like it will, who do we sign? The deal leaves Dallas pretty thin upfront, and obviously that isn't good. Now trades are pretty much out of the question, so which free agent gets signed? Or do the Mavericks take their chances with the current roster?
I think they are waiting for Seattle to buy out Thomas. If they do, that is a great guy to play back up for them.
In order for them to get Thomas though, the Sonics do have to complete the buyout, and last I heard, they weren't even talking about that. Beyond that, there's no guarantees that he even wants to be a Maverick.
