Keith Van Horn has agreed to sign a $4 million contract with Dallas, which means the last hurdle in the trade that will send Jason Kidd to the Mavericks should be cleared, and the trade should become final on Tuesday or Wednesday. Nets president Rod Thorn was quoted as saying late Monday night that the trade "appears to be a go" after receiving word that Van Horn was in, so it looks like Kidd will officially join the Mavericks. The Nets will send Kidd and Malik Allen to the Mavs for Devin Harris, DeSagana Diop, Maurice Ager, Trenton Hassell and Van Horn. And in a separate deal, the Nets will trade Antoine Wright to Dallas for a $1.6 million trade exception to create the necessary roster spot for Van Horn. It's still not known whether Kidd will be able to take care of the physical exam and paperwork to be in uniform on Wednesday night, but there might be a chance. We should know more on Tuesday. courtesy of rotoworld. All I have to say is thank you Kidd for your dedication for all these years and bringing the excitement of the NBA back to New Jersey. It was an amazing time that we made the playoffs in all the years he was here. Thank you so much KIDD, and I hope one day your jersey gets risen to the rafters, because you were the greatest nets player of all time. No insult to Dr. J! Again THANKS KIDD!
Chris, you have just become my favorite poster. Welcome and stick around. BTW, can I get a link please?

It's done. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Word came shortly after 9 p.m. that after six days and several revisions, the biggest deal in Nets’ history is done. Keith Van Horn agreed to a $4.3 million contract and agreed to join the Nets, eliminating the final obstacle in a deal that will send Jason Kidd, Malik Allen, Antoine Wright to Dallas for Van Horn, Devin Harris, Desagana Diop, Maurice Ager, Trenton Hassell, first round picks in 2008 and 2010, a second round pick and $3 million in cash.</div> Source
I can't believe the drama is finally over. But I'm going to miss that bald bastard, Kidd gave the Nets some good memories.
Welcome to S2, chris86! I added in the link so posters like KidChocolate wouldn't bitch at you. Hope you don't mind All I gotta say is THANK GOD, and thank Van Horn! From Dave D's article: <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>"If you talk to either side, they'll give you a lecture on the new CBA (Collective Bargaining Agreement)," said one agent, who has a player in the deal but could not be identified out of fear he could affect it. "The league was looking at loopholes. Dallas felt that because Rod has so much respect with the NBA, he'll get the lowdown of how to make the bare-minimum necessities work without this being on hold. "It's a daunting task to get a deal like this done, there's so many other things going on. It's a lot to rewrite the constitution in five minutes, but that's what they're really doing."</div> I wonder whose agent that was...
I was dreading this day, but I feel a sense of relief. I'm just glad to see some change. Hopefully we have more of the moments that we had the past seven years as well as better ones in the future. BTW, welcome to S2 Chris, any questions feel free to PM me.
Wow, after all that has happened, I'm surprised you guys feel comfortable to think this trade is final. I wont relax until I see Harris in a Net uni.
