Yes this a grassy knoll theory, but what else do we have to discuss today Stro "Not so" Swift has a player option for next season. Granted it for much more than he would make as a free agent, but what if Thron is stockpiling big men as a way of encouraging Stro to opt out of his contract?
Sounds likes wishful thinking on your part. But I remember a situation where a player's agent once forgot to file papers and enact his player option; leaving him an UFA and getting less money than his option year. Maybe we can cross our fingers...

I don't expect Magloire to play the rest of the season so we are looking at a rotation of big men that has Krstic, Boone, Williams, Diop, and Swift. Unless Stro has a good last half of the season, there's no way he leaves money on the table and opts out of his contract.

Anthony Carter deserves a ring! -Petey

The only way this could work is if he was so frustrated that he got zero playing time this season and saw the possibility of zero next season.
Wouldn't it work the other way around? Wouldn't Swift be more likely to opt out if there were less big men, meaning more playing time and higher stats this season, and the chance of a bigger contract this offseason?
I'm kinda pissed at how many big men we have. Sean and Boone have proven that they are great young players and deserve minutes. Krstic is finally back and his shot is starting to fall so he should get minutes. Swift has proven (atleast to me) that he can dunk with authority and bring energy to the game so he deserves minutes. And Diop is a big 7'0 280lbs who is still young and came out of High School. He is a great post defender and has a lot of upside to him so I think he also deserves minutes. I don't know who's gonna get how many minutes but lets hope it works out. Even though Frank will find some way to mess things up. I think Diop will become Frank's new upgraded Jason Collins.
