I think Colangelo's been interested in him ever since the offseason, but this is the first time I've read actual names being thrown around: <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The Raptors, looking for a defensive swingman to put on the Paul Pierces and Caron Butlers of the world in the playoffs, are interested in Mickael Pietrus, the Warriors' small forward who's fallen out of favor in Golden State. You may recall a certain sage advocating that the home team get in the bidding. The names I've heard that Toronto is using as bait are Joey Graham and Juan Dixon. Of course, the Raptors wouldn't talk about names. That's okay; that's what we're here for. I guess.</div> <div align="center">Source: Live From...</div> <div align="center">Another take on it from AOL Fanhouse</div> I would absolutely love this deal. Not only do we get a swingman with a lot of potential (I'm trying to ignore the Warriors forum here), but we also don't take on anymore financial baggage (Croshere's expiring and, in the event that we decide Pietrus isn't worth the money, so is his deal). And all we have to do is get rid of two of our more frustrating players to watch in Dixon and Graham.
This would be nice. Pietrus is pretty good. Dixon has been asking for a trade outta there, and GS was one team that popped in my head that he'd work on (Portland, also).
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (cpawfan @ Feb 19 2008, 05:24 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>What is in it for the Warriors?</div> Dixon's an expiring contract and I'm assuming they'd think there's something worth salvaging in Joey Graham. I basically look at it as both team's swapping their trash (like "Hoffa for Humphries" or "Fred Jones for Juan Dixon"). Golden State would be admitting that there's not much else they can get for Pietrus before he inevitably bolts. Neither team really takes on an added financial burden either.
My reaction to this trade would be somewhere between "hell yes" and an unintelligible girlish squeal. I can see us giving up somebody like Moon to make the Warriors interested.
go get him, i love Mikael, and he'll love TO, id be so in favour of this, it has a ton of positives GO GET HIM!
i wouldnt want to give up Moon but Ill see your girlish squeal and raise you one awkward fuck yeah follow by many a stares in the office.
a small move like this could move us up in the race for the east if we can defend slashing guards, we will be tough to beat if we hit shots
It couldn't hurt. I expect the impact of this trade to be something similar to the Delfino acquisition.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Jizzy @ Feb 19 2008, 09:11 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>hasnt moon played awesome? why cut into his minutes? he rmeinds me of pippen</div> hes still a step slow with slashers (manu, maggette), and peitrus could help moon
Moon's a great role player, but I'm not comfortable with him being our permanent starter. He's not that great on offense and, like Bas said, he still struggles with quicker guards/swingmen who can take it to the bucket. I think he'd be a damn good spark off the bench.
man this would be an awesome trade, give up rasho and dixon, i dont like either of em, they dont do anythin for raps, and this trade would not only help micheal, buh also garbo too, he'll get sum playin mins once he comes back, and we'll look to be going to the conference finals
I'm not saying I want to give up Moon--a Dixon/Graham package would obviously be much better--but you have to give something to get something. Moon is a better rebounder and shotblocker than Pietrus, but Pietrus is a better shooter and defender. You have to give up something to get something and right now I don't think Dixon/Graham is going to net us anything but somebody else's hot garbage.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (hustler @ Feb 19 2008, 10:41 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>rasho actually does a lot for the raps.</div> what good does he do? his just a tall guy sitting on the bench getting money, and i rather have garbo doing what his doing, and you gotta agree with me, when i say last years success was based on how well garbo played defense for us, if he was playing right now, raps wud be as good as Cavs or Magic
