As a mod of the Mavericks forum, I was just coming over to say pleasure doing business with you, it shall be interesting to see how this trade works out.

You got a nice young player in Devin Harris, I've always had high hopes for him but from what I've read you guys are reading into him too much, overrating him. He is not a good shooter not a playmaker, but he is a great defensive PG who will help you deal with PG's in the East (most of t he quick ones are in the West). Diops interior defense is also improving, he is a good shotblocker so along with Sean Williams you have a pretty nice and young paint-defense duo

Us Mavs fans (all 2 of us) would love to hear your opinions on the trade so please, drop by the Mavericks forum; http://sportstwo.com/forums/Dallas-Mavericks-f93.html and help us out. Jason Kidd fans feel welcome to stay!

Thanks for stopping by the Nets forum. It was a pleasure doing business with you, as well.

Just please don't hate us and curse us out when Malik Allen allows 10 points in a row, and goes 2-5 on weak jumpers during that same span.

And I think Wright has serious potential with the Mavs. They seem like a team he could do some damage on, and I'd like to see him prosper there.

Have fun with Kidd! With him and Howard on the break, I'm sure you'll love to see him out there.

I've got hopes that the shooting will improve.

The playmaking, that's more of a natural talent issue. On the other hand, the Mavs have traditionally played an iso-oriented, assist-light offense.

It'll be interesting to see how Harris plays in a new offensive scheme. The Mavs have a great one - they're constantly near the top of the league in offensive efficiency - but it may not have been right for Harris.

I love Diop. With him and Sean Williams and Boone, we will have the Violent Triplets!

Their frontcourt is thinner than the Nets' was!

They have Dirk, Juwan, Damp and Bass. Those are the bigs.

Hey, at least they'll be able to knock off Golden State this year. They match up WAY better now.

Kidd was a great pick-up for you guys he is a true leader and can do anything you need him to do on the court. I think Kidd's rebounding and starting the break will help you guys tremendously. Yes, Kidd is 34 years old but you could never tell by the way he plays. Since we are rebuilding I'll be rooting for you guys! Good Luck!

Quick question though.. Is there any possibility that Kidd goes into the Hall of Fame as a Net or the Nets retire his number?

    i think it's a win-win...

mavs got a player who is a tough-minded competitor and one who can make everyone around him immediately better and also one who can get the mavs over the top which is more important for the mavs right now since they have been so close so winning it all but couldn't...
wright has shown he can terrorize melo anthony and allen iverson with his defense and has ably forced kobe into bad shooting nights (alternating on defense with jkidd) but his shooting is spotty and can't finish near the rim.
malik allen should be cut immediately...

the nets get a player with tony parker-like potential who is young and cheap for an aging maximum-salary legend who does not want to play for them anymore, a player who adds depth to an eternally thin frontline, a player with a reputation as a shooter (ager) which is another of the nets' needs...
not to mention financial flexibility because of the expiring contracts plus 2 1st rounders...all important to a rebuilding team.

so both teams get what they need with regards to their current situation...

I think he means that Kidd can't guard any of those guys - and he's right.

I don't think you go in with a team any more. Your career accomplishments will be noted along with teams played for throughout their career. I'm sure the Nets will retire #5. I guess that won't happen until he retires, but it'd be incredible if they retired it on his trip back next year.
