In the pregame interview, Frank said "once Devin is healthy, he will be the starter then stated DA, Boki, as the first off the bench "then will see," seriously what did Marcus do to piss this guy off?

I assume you haven't been watching.

Except for one really good game, he has looked pretty bad. I'm close to giving up on him.

I think it's a little too early to give up on Marcus Williams. He hasn't played well this season, but young players especially often go through a tough season early on. Honestly, not everyone is Chris Paul. Not everyone can come in and assume the PG position and have tons of success quickly. Some people do take a little more time and Marcus could very well be in that boat. He's still got solid potential, so I wouldn't give up on him just yet.

He either cannot play will not play solid defense. Looks lost in the offensive scheme. I hold out hope that the playing time he gets in the next couple of weeks helps his motor start running.

i think thats more a statement of franks poorly conceived offense than williams shortcomings. at this point, to criticize marcus for being a mediocre defender and for struggling with whatever you call the mess frank believes constitutes an nba offense is silly. its the coaches responsibility to put his players in a position to succeed. for two years byron scott did this by allowing kidd to push the ball and look for transition opportunities. at this point, we know what marcus is- an excellent pick and roll guard still developing his floor game and jump shot (and learning how to keep players in front of him on defense). marcus looks great in any pick and roll situation and his potential to be a great point guard is obvious, so why not run an offense that exploits his obvious strengths rather than exposing his known weaknesses?

for some reason, frank abhors the pick and roll, though tonight he seemed to run it out of necessity. williams only responded by having an extremely solid game. i think williams and harris could actually be a nice starting backcourt, playing similarly to baron davis and monta ellis out west, with marcus running the pick and roll and spacing the floor with his outside shooting, and harris being a one man fast break, driving and dishing, and creating havoc on defense.

True, true. I've gone from completely giving up on him to having the slightest amount of hope that he might be a good backup point guard.
