I'm watching the Suns - Lakers game, but I see in the gamecast that Boylan is using the 3 guard lineup: Gordon, Hinrich, Duhon... What?
Gordon/Duhon are being switched out for offense/defense. Wallace is not. Bulls down 4. Nets at the line. 32 seconds left. Game over.
It doesn't seem like there's going to be a turnaround this season. And that was just another horrendous performance by Wallace down the stretch. Generally speaking, it also doesn't help matters that I go into a seething rage every time I see Pau Gasol prancing up and down the court in a Lakers' uniform.

As I watched that game (after the Bull lost), I was enraged about Gasol being yet another one who got away. He was doing all kinds of things the Bulls really need.

I think the guy is shooting an insane .650+ from the field. Guys like Gordon, Deng, Carter, RJ aren't gonna draw guys like Kobe does. Not sure he would had been the cure all in either situation. -Petey

But I honestly felt that if the Bulls were going to see the no-superstar, "Detroit model" to its conclusion, Gasol was their guy. --He pretty much demands a double-team in the low-block. There aren't a lot of players in the league who can succesfully handle him one-on-one. Decent at drawing fouls. --Unselfish, smart player who can be counted on to make good, fundamentally sound decisions with the ball. --Isn't limited to scoring solely in the paint -- can face slower centers up and beat them with the dribble, and has a sufficiently competent jumpshot from 18" and in. --A mediocre man defender, okay as help defender, probably not as bad as advertised, could have been shielded with Hinrich, Deng, healthy/interested Ben Wallace, etc. In sum I think he would have provided a huge jolt to their halfcourt offense without compromising too much of their defensive principles. And I think just as importantly he would have made the Bulls a much more interesting team to watch. Grrrr.

But I agree, he would had made last nights game more bearable for 1 side at least. -Petey
I've been trying really hard to not watch the Lakers. Gasol not going to the Bulls makes Baby Jesus cry.
