He's on the last year of a contract paying him $5,544,370. Shooting 48% overall, 43% from three in 18 minutes a game. Serious playoff experience and some rings. Just traded to Seatle. A trade of Mags and Boki for him works financially. We could throw in a 2nd rounder to make it happen. Any takers?

This trade would allow them to pick up a draft pick and maintain expiring money. My only opposing thought is that Seattle just made a trade for him, meaning they sought him out and obviously wanted him. If its for any reason except for the expiring, then I dont' see them swinging him in a (de facto) three-team deal thats not premeditated.
Yeah, I'd take him. Rather have Mike Miller, but he'll do. Boki is beyond disappointing now. 0-4 in a game like this where all his teammates are pumped up. If we could unload Swift for Barry I'd do that too. Even send a 2nd rounder. Dpubt the Sonics would take that.
I'm not sure if it's worth giving up a second, but if Mike Miller fails I'd go for Boki and Magloire I guess though I'd liek to keep Boki

Geez, that team is going to have a ton of rookies next year.

Update: This link says they are going to waive him before March 1st and that Golden State and Phoenix might be interested. Isn't the rule that if multiple teams are interested, the team with the worst record gets dibs? If so, that 0-9 stretch could come in handy!
Related question for the CBA gurus: Can a team use a trade exception to offset the salary (for cap purposes) of a player acquired off waivers?

I was thinking that if they couldn't trade Magloire and pieces for a shooter before tomorrow, they could trade him to any team that wants an extra six fouls from a big man for cash or a 2nd rounder or something and then use the trade exception towards Barry.

Also, does anyone think think that if this team does well over the next few games, showing the same level of intensity and fire, that management would consider waiving Magloire and picking up Barry to get us a shooter? He's making over $5M in the last year of a contract.

Once he is a FA (clears waivers) he is free to sign with anyone (well 30 days for the Spurs)
