A Nuggets source indicated Wednesday night that the Knicks were considering a deal for Brazilian forward Nene, who recently began light workouts one month after surgery to remove a malignant tumor from his right testicle. Denver was also trying to make a deal for Sacramento's Ron Artest. Nene was originally drafted by the Knicks before being traded to Denver along with Marcus Camby for Antonio McDyess.</div>
<span style="font-size:10pt;line-height:100%">Nelson ready to draw, or stand pat at trade deadline</span> <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'><span style="color:#FF0000">Golden State is still looking to move disgruntled forward Mickael Pietrus</span>, but its parameters remain the same: The Warriors want a rotational player in return, and specifically one without a long-term contract as the team plans to re-sign Monta Ellis and Andris Biedrins this summer. The Warriors would consider taking on a hefty contract only if it involves adding a top-tier player such as Elton Brand or Jermaine O'Neal, but those scenarios do not appear likely. If the Warriors do make a move, Nelson does not expect any of his rookies to be in play. "We like what we did last year in the draft, and the fact that they're not ready to help us this year doesn't mean they're not going to be a big part of our future. They are. We like them very much," Nelson said.</div> source

<span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:100%">NJ HAS SHOWN INTEREST IN NENE</span> <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'><span style="color:#FF0000">Denver does have some live talks going with Miami and New Jersey regarding Nene, even though the Brazilian bruiser's return date has not been locked in yet after surgery to remove a testicular tumor in January. The Heat are known to be looking for a big man in the wake of Shaquille O'Neal's departure, and Nene for Jason Williams' expiring contract would work financially and positionally for the Nuggets, who need payroll relief and a point guard. But New Jersey has likewise shown an interest and could put the expiring contracts of Jamaal Magloire, Bostjan Nachbar and Darrell Armstrong together to get to Nene's salary level ($8.8 million).</span></div> ESPN WHY !!!
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Philadelphia Inquirer)</div><div class='quotemain'>This guy [Brian Windhorst, Akron Beacon Journal] is usually reliable, so I am bending my rule about forwarding trade speculation from others. As to the substance of it, this is the only thing I hear: Miami and Memphis may be the other players involved. That makes sense because of the following sentence fragment: I was told by no less than six general managers during All-Star weekend that the Heat was shopping Shawn Marion around.</div> Link Shawn Marion could be traded. This adds a whole new side to proceedings today, many teams will be interested in acquiring Marion, but I suspect that the Heat would want picks for him to allow them to build for the future.

And Wells...well, I'm not too sure. I guess they thought he was redundant with Battier on the team..? I'm not too sure, to be honest. But you have to remember who the coach is on the Rockets: Rick Adelman. This is the same guy who coached in Sacramento not too long ago. And their main backup was who else, but Bobby Jackson. That's definitely the reason they made this trade, because Adelman wanted Jackson back. He knows Adelman's system, and he's a reliable player. Oh, and as for Nene, I'm hoping that's a BS report. It's probably just Denver that's trying to unload Nene on us. I don't see why the Nets would take him on.
Gerald Green is telling FOX 26 Sports he has been traded to his hometown Houston Rockets for guard Kirk Snyder and a second-round draft pick.
