<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>So this will surely disappoint some of you and also anger some of you, but I cannot yet say what player the Cavs are considering making a deal for. I have to protect sources. But I can tell you that I have talked to two different people in different organizations that have confirmed the talks are serious. I know you want more, but I just can’t give it to you at this point. I am not trying to build up ratings here, I am reporting what I can report. Just know that Danny Ferry is serious about trying to upgrade the roster. Whether or not it gets done though is up in the air. It’s 50/50 at best.
–Here is what I can tell you, it is a trade that would change the dynamic somewhat of how the Cavs play but not directly affect the way LeBron James plays. Also, if this deal goes through, it would potentially allow the Cavs to make another deal.
–Also, the Cavs are trying to get a first-round pick as part of the deal. Which is a sticking point, the other team doesn’t want to give it up. Perhaps this is because they are thinking of trading their first round pick this year or next year as part of another deal.</div>

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Another theory could be Ilgauskas to the Nets for Vince Carter, and although the Nets aren’t a contending team, Z has a year less than Vinsanity on his deal. New Jersey clearly wants to blow up their team after shipping J-Kidd, but giving away a first just to shave a year off the length of Carter’s contract makes this deal doubtful.</div>

Well, that would make no sense.

    Z for VC ain't gonna happen. That's a fact.

With all the big men the Nets have at the moment there's no chance of a Z for VC trade, I don't know how stupid cavs fans are to think they would even get a 1st round pick from Nets in any deal trading VC.

I'd prefer Nets do that Knicks Heat three way deal than acquire Z or Hughes.

    what about this?

i have always wanted vince to team up with LBJ in cleveland. then with big Z? wow.</div>

I'm sorry, but I'd rather take the extra year on Vince than to take Larry Hughes.

I have a feeling NJ could do better in the offseason.

I'm hearing that the deal will involve Michael Redd, as apparently he is unhappy in Milwaukee. The Cavs are apparently looking for a first round pick in this year's draft, but I don't quite know how that will be possible if they just acquire Redd for Hughes. Should be an interesting day in the NBA, though.

Why not? The rumor of a VC for JO trade going around for a few weeks now. What's wrong with VC for bit Z?

Vince carter playing for the cavs, that would be insane. No one would able to stop them.

We're talking about Danny Ferry here. He won't do a trade unless it's lopsided in our favor. And no GM out there is stupid enough to do that except maybe Chris Wallace in Memphis...

Z has another year over JO w/o no potential opt out?

My guess is they are making a play for JON.

If Redd's available we need to go after him! I'd give RJ for him and put VC at SF.

i guess you guys dont get the fact that the only way VC is goin to be traded is for cap relief plus picks and a promising young player. A similiar package to what thorn got for kidd.

if thorn cant get something like that hes not goin to move VC especially for Z or hughes lol and the thought that the cavs would want 1 of our picks in return is just hilarious

The nets need VC if they plan to keep any season ticketholders faith for the upcoming season

My father's boss has been a season ticketholder for the past 5 years and just yesterday when they went out for lunch together he said now after the kidd trade hes not goin to renew his tickets for next season

Man, that would be a good trade.

Redd would play well off Carter & Harris.

The trade will not include Ilgauskas:

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Brian Windhorst @ Akron Beacon Journal)</div><div class='quotemain'>One more thing just to calm some of the waters. I have not once heard Zydrunas Ilgauskas’ name come up in a trade rumor this season. That doesn’t mean it hasn’t come up in trade talks, but he is not part of the potential deal I was talking about. However, Z and the Cavs do have a little issue going on behind the scenes about him playing for the Lithuanian national team.</div>

    Link

I think it's gotta be Hughes, he did manage to get his stroke going before the All-Star Break.

Also, according to ESPN Vince Carter wil not be moved

Could also see them making a play for Randolph or Curry. Knicks are stupid enough to take their crap.

I could see Hughes and Gibson for Randolph with the 2nd deal they say they need be getting another PG like maybe Watson.
