<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Michael East Providence, RI: I feel that the Chicago Bulls need a big man for a low post player. What are the chances that the Chicago Bulls will make a trade today for get that type of player.

SportsNation Chad Ford: (1:05 PM ET ) After another bad loss last night ... you have to wonder what Paxson is thinking? They have assets, but seem to be paralyzed in making a move. Maybe he feels it's best to let this season play out and then fix things in the summer. So no ... I don't think the Bulls are dealing.</div>

    Sounding familiar

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>SportsNation Chad Ford: (1:19 PM ET ) Hold on a second ... have to take this call on a possible trade ...

Ryan, Chicago: Please tell me Ben Wallace is on the move

SportsNation Chad Ford: (1:24 PM ET ) Maybe ... call was about Ben Wallace in a possible deal with the Cavs. I've got to stress that it was from what I'd call a third party source ... not someone directly involved in the negotiations. So ... take it with a grain of salt ... but interesting ...</div>

    Try to keep up DC.

On that Cleveland trade, my guess is someone else significant is going out if we're getting Gooden (Good player on a good contract) back.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Chad Ford: (2:03 PM ET ) I'm getting lots of phone calls now ... sorry for delays. One source says the hold up in a Chicago-Cavs deal is that Cleveland wants Chicago to take back Larry Hughes and Drew Gooden for Ben Wallace, Joe Smith and Duhon. I can't really see the Bulls doing that. Hughes has two years, $26 million left on his contract and where do the Bulls play him?</div>

Gooden is a guy I'd like to get back. Hughes' deal sucks, but it's hard to fathom exactly how bad Wallace has been. Plus, Hughes/Kirk/Gordon is a workable set of guards, though I actually suspect Hughes is also the final curtain on Gordon as a Bull.

    Pull the trigger Pax!

Slam dunk of a great deal, though Du gives Cleveland the PG they've needed so badly all along, and we'd be helping a team in the East.

Hughes' deal is smaller and shorter (or same length as) than Wallace. I'd certainly give him a lot of burn to see if he can make it back to his Wizards' level of play. He'd be a great fit next to Gordon or Hinrich.

    <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Dale: Any updates to pass on?

SportsNation Chad Ford: (2:15 PM ET ) Not yet ... I'll update you. We have multiple confirmations about the Bulls-Cavs talking. The hang-up seems to be the Cavs insisting that Larry Hughes be in the deal. If that's dropped, I'm told Bulls would agree.</div>

Guh... Hughes is 99% less cancerous than Wallace. That's all I got to say about that.

If Hughes is coming in, Gordon has to be leaving.

    Right?

Pax is being a moron. We're getting the two best players in this deal. Screw the salary cost. Gooden has a smaller salary than Noc, I do believe, and he's going to toughen us up at both ends.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Chad Ford: (2:38 PM ET ) Wow ... too close to call right now. Apparently, one of the reasons the Cavs are pushing that Hughes be in the Bulls deal is that they want their expiring contracts and Donyell Marshall to get ahold of Wally Szczerbiak. So the Cavs would add Wally, Ben Wallace, Joe Smith and Duhon. Could it be three new starters around LeBron?</div>

Getting Hughes and Gooden back, I assume I do this and consider myself pretty lucky. Gooden's a better, bigger version of Smith

12 minutes to go, and my son is calmed after bumping his head when jumping off the bead. Let's get Wallace out of here.

Yeah, I'd like to get rid of Noc too, but I'm pretty sure management has a major man crush on him.

I think there were probably more productive ways to ditch Wallace's contract, but frankly, anything that gets rid of him is ultimately okay in my book. It's fixing the biggest broken window, at any rate.

ESPN News says 10 players, Cavs, Sonics, Bulls, so the Cavs must have gotten their Wally in the same deal. I wonder what it means for us, though.
