We have 2 picks coming to us this year. One probably in the the teens, the other in the 20's. Do we use those to pick up more young players? Should we package them or any of our other players for a higher pick or other players? Or have I jumped the gun, gone insane and rather wait till the official end of the Nets' year (Playoff exit or April !6)?

Lots of variables. The nets' pick could be between #7-11, or #15-16, depending on whether they make the playoffs--that's a big gap. Dallas' pick could be anywhere between #22-28--or they could miss the playoffs entirely, in which case the Nets won't get it. They could obviously do different things with #7, #22, and #37 than with #16 and #28 (or #16 and nothing).

Honestly, IMO this team needs shooter like Ray Allen more than it need big man like Kevin Garnett.

So if the Mavs miss the playoffs have we forever lost that first round pick, or does it get moved to another year?

I think both picks them get moved to 2009 and 2011.

Richard Roby comes to mind so does Joey Dorsey especially where we pick them, we could possibly even see Bryce Taylor slip waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay down, we have a few picks in rd. 1 this year, I'd love 1 potential starter and 1 decent bench filler at the wing.

My first thought is that since the Nets don't have a pressing need for a big man, that they could stay put and get two really good swingmen where they are.

Of course, they might want to use one or both picks to move up or upgrade a position.

It's nice to have the flexibility.

Of course, there is one 50 win team not making the playoffs, and there's always the chance it will be the Mavs.

I think we should trade up to get a natural scorer like O.J. Mayo. I wouldn't want to trade away our picks for Mike Miller though I would rather keep the youth comming in. Can you imagine where we would be if we didn't sell Kyle Korver for $150,000.... [IMG]

LOL except Marcus isn't, but Mayo has definitely been compared by draft minds as Marbury Jr., I'll admit he's gotten better but what happens when he gets pissed at a coach like Frank.

NBADraft.net's prediction for us, Tyler Smith, is playing pretty well in tonight's game against Memphis. Pretty athletic kid..
