Flip would not do well on a contending team because most of the elite players in the league are too insecure to accept Flip going after his game at the expense of them not getting their touches. Flip is best suited on a team with a real need for backcourt help because otherwise he'll end up with the same role that he has had in Seattle and in Detroit - no meaningful minutes unless a starter goes down with an injury. Then of course he'll put up comparable numbers to that of the starter he replaced and go right back to insignificant minutes once that starter returns. He is still the league's best kept secret but at age 28 I imagine that the window for him showing the rest of the league what type of talent that he has is closing as we speak. Hopefully he and his agent are smart enough to pick a team that could use his help -- Sacramento or the L.A. Clippers are two teams that I imagine would allow him to play his game. Maybe even Denver considering that George Karl drafted him in Milwaukee. We will see.
I can tell by watching him he's a talented player, at least as a rotation player, but for whatever reason he can never catch on. Unfortunate.
