<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Center Jamaal Magloire is expected to sign with the Dallas Mavericks as early as Tuesday, though nothing is official yet. Magloire was recently waived by the Nets, but shouldn't have fantasy value backing up Erick Dampier in Dallas.</div> Roto Did we waive Mags as part of the Kidd deal? I think since Cuban gave us Diop we might have agreed to waive Magloire for them to sign but we delayed it so the commish didn't get suspicious. W/e it's not a big deal he wasn't doing much for us but I bet Mags turns into a decent player with Dallas b/c Frank doesn't know what he's doing with players.
It's a coincidence. How were the Mavs to know he would sign with them? How were they to know a team won't offer him bigger money or a bigger role? -Petey
Magloire is horrible. Although he will provide them with 6 fouls against Shaq. He won't be able to foul Gasol because he won't keep up with him.

Hes still a pretty decent rebounder. Look at his game log, when he got minutes, he crashed the boards.
Conspiracy....same with Brent Barry. Spurs kept his locker in tact, he was seen in SA over the weekend at a STH event. But latest word, I'm hearing is Phoenix.

I said from day 1 that Magloire is over the hill. 6 fouls and maybe a couple rebound is all he brings to the table. Hardly makes up for his turnovers and black hole with the basketball on offense.
The smarter thing for him to do is go to Houston since Yao is out for the season with a foot fracture now... He'll DEF get mins there...
i really couldnt care less if it was part of the deal or not the guy is a turnover machine and he wasnt contributing to this team
Good stuff, I've missed watching him fumble a pass from Kidd and lose it out of bounds over and over again. Hopefully they can keep it up in Dallas.

That's pretty cool. Good for him. He can let us know if the bench feels warmer in Dallas than it did here.

The Nets were going to be a top team and Magloire would help us along the way. So much for that predication.
I think Magloire is highly overrated. I don't see him doing much down in Dallas. All he is to them is an extra six fouls since they're frontcourt is so thin. His main purpose is going to be post defense, something they lack severely, and rebounding, something else they're not too good at. The rebounding is something he might be able to do, defense, not so much. The bigs out West are much quicker than him (Duncan, Gasol, Bynum, Amare, etc.) and shouldn't have too many issues beating him in the post.
Wow, if this was a side deal...imagine that. Not only do the Mavs take a disgruntled superstar, but they also take not one, but two useless bigs and an underachieving wing player! This deal is looking sweeter and sweeter by the day. Mags will probably help Dallas w/ the foul situation, and the Shaq matchup...possibly the Bynum matchup, too, but probably not. At the least, to repeat what people have said, he'll be 6 more fouls for Avery to work with...and someone to clog up the lane. Not so bad for the Mavs. But definitely a big downgrade from Diop, Diop.
