This is beautiful. I think this solidifies our frontcourt nicely, and helps our second unit on both ends. Great pickup by DA.

If this Cassell deal goes through along with this... wow.

Great move by the Celts, giving some much needed depth in the frontcourt.

Nice move by the C's...I truly thought he was going back to New Orleans. This gives the C's more depth up front which will certainly help come playoff time.

Wow, this is a slight surprise. I didn't think he'd come back at all this season.

    Who is PJ Brown?

    Age: 38 years old
    Height: 6-11
    Weight: 240 lbs
    College: Louisiana Tech
    Experience: 14
    Playoff games: 81
    Career PPG: 9.2
    Career RPG 7.8
    Career BPG: 1.0

The signing has been made official.

The Celtics, their needs still unaddressed at backup point guard, made a strong move today to add defense and strength to their frontcourt with the signing of veteran power forward P.J. Brown.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Brown, who was also courted by the Hornets, said his decision to come to Boston was strongly aided by a conversation he had with Paul Pierce and Ray Allen in New Orleans Feb. 16.

"They just pulled me over and said, 'Man, we'd really love to have you on the team,' " said Brown before last night's game against the Cavaliers. " 'With your experience, we think you can help our young guys and add some stability to our team. As a player, we still think you can play. Your defense and rebounding fits in with what we're trying to do.'

"That made a huge difference in this whole deal. If that doesn't happen, you probably don't see me here today."</div>

That article also states that Brown will wear #93, since that was the year he got drafted/married.

Speaking of that, he's another funny tidbit I came across in that article - his wife's name is Dee Brown. [IMG]

I was talking to CB32 on AIM once and I really tried to find a picture of PJ with his feet not on the floor (in a bulls uni). Couldn't find one.

As a Bull, the guy got several shots blocked by the underside of the rim. He wasn't very mobile anymore, so he wasn't worth much on defense. The best D he played all season was against Bargnani, because all he had to do was stand next to the guy at the 3pt line and stick a hand in his face (Bargnani doesn't move well, either).

60+ games off and no practices, and he's like 39 years old. I hope for Boston's sake he has a little left in the tank, but you should look at this as taking a flyer - if it pans out, it's going to be just OK. Don't get your hopes up.
