Dana White's big announcement today was that the UFC has gained a new, high-profile sponsor: Budweiser (specifically, Bud Light). Budweiser has long been one of the biggest sports marketers in North America. This is the biggest main stream sponsor the UFC has ever had and is likely to open the door for other brands. The contract with Bud Light is for three years. With Harley Davidson also on board, the UFC is starting to gain a foothold in mainstream advertising.

The UFC is also supposedly in negotiations with Fox in an attempt to get another television deal in place besides the one they already have with SpikeTV. Fox's shows are mostly terrible but they do an outstanding, Emmy-award winning job with NASCAR and the NFL. Yesterday it was announced that competitor EliteXC, that is aired on Showtime, has signed a four-event-per-year contract with CBS.

Mickeys actually tastes good? I always figured it was along the lines of Colt.

it's a novelty because of the goofy stubbies they come in but i'm not a fan of the flavour.

it certainly is a high profile sponsor.
