It seems to me, "The General" is sending a clear and loud message that he still calls the shot regardless of who Cuban brings in. There is no excuse for taking out Jason Kidd in a crucial situation like that unless Kidd is hurt. But then again, Kidd is known to play in pain. The Mavs were like a lost puppy. Cuban brought Kidd in for these situations. And Avery takes him out? It should be both fun and painful to hear Avery's excuse for this one. I don't care if Kidd only knows 1 or 2 plays, you leave him out on the floor and you give him the ball. I don't think Avery would want to hear Cuban say, "I'm relieving you of your command General". Two words Avery, NO EXCUSE.
Avery shouldn't be sending any messages. What kind of message is Avery sending by taking Kidd out? "I want to increase the chances of my team losing?". I still can't digest the fact that Avery made such an awful mistake. Kidd helped keep Dallas up during the whole game, and then you take him out? That's straight up bull. What was the result? Two awful possessions.
