I personally thought the movie rocked. One of my favorites from 2007 and I bought the DVD the day it came out.
Honestly, did you expect much plot from this movie? I didn't. The story, while pretty weak, was good enough. The acting was very solid as well, and the filmmaking was brilliant. Most importantly though, the movie was entertaining, and that's what it's all about.
I loved how history professors all over the world simultaneously had aneurysms while trying to deal with the inaccuracies in that film. It was an enjoyable movie, because it didn't have any pretense about what it was.

I like watching the movies, and then finding out the truth behind what these movies are extremely loosely based on.
