So we all know about Roko and have a good idea how he is doing this season (very well) but does anyone know much about Giorgos Printezis I know he won a dunk competition last year. Here is his team profile, although I have a hard time figuring out how to read European stats. My big fat Greek forward
I remember M Two One thinking very highly of this pick around draft-time. I'll see if I can dig up his posts.
I like Giorgos. He's a scrapper. Plus he came outta the stands from nowhere during the draft wearing a t-shirt and a sports jacket.
He compared him to Nocioni a little: <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (M Two One)</div><div class='quotemain'>I've seen him play once and it was a big enough game to get him on my list of players to look out for in the future. He's pretty quick, has a good feel for the game in general and knows what's going on at all times. He didn't seem to let anything get past him. He reminds of Nocioni, with a better touch (for NBA start) and more strength, but not nearly as good defensively or willing to take a charge by a big man. He will throw himself around the court though. He can adapt to different scenarios from what I know of and could be a threat in fast paced play. I don't see him playing much for a year or even two years, but down the road we may see another key foreigner for the Spurs.</div> Link <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (M Two One)</div><div class='quotemain'>Yeah, well worse defense isn't really the best way to put it because Noce is a great defender. It is just that this kid isn't as good defensively right now as Noce and needs to learn how to pass, but he will throw himself all over the court to get his team the ball from what I've seen. With a year or two to polish his skills I'm guessing he could be equal or better to Nocioni's current offensive capabilities and he'll have to be more prepared to take charges from larger players like Shaq or Oden because we all know Nocioni will take any charge from anyone no matter the size or strength. Also yes, already this kid is stronger then Nocioni and could probably play SF or PF, but with even more help he could establish himself as a frantic go-to guy for an easy slam over anyone guarding him. He's pretty confident with his offensive capabilities and will likely not scare off to knock someone over in the lane to get two points. He's very willing to learn and I think this is a great pick up for Colangelo. You should know from last year he knows his European prospects, which is why I rank the man so high in my GM list. Have some confidence in this pick up.</div> Link
Guy's really got no place on this team once Garbo returns. I don't expect to ever see him in a Raps uniform.
