<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>When asked about his rotation, coach Lawrence Frank indicated that Devin Harris will continue to come off the bench, which is in contrast to what was initially coming out of New Jersey. "We'll have Devin off the bench, then Boki (Nachbar). And DeSagana (Diop) is the backup 5 and Stromile (Swift) the backup 4." Sean Williams has fallen out of the rotation, and Marcus Williams will start at point guard. But if Harris continues to play well, you have to think he'll eventually become the starting point guard for the Nets.</div> I hope Sean works his way back into the lineup but I think Harris should get the start immediately especially since we have to guard Parkers tonight. He better atleast get big minutes..
Once Devin becomes familiar with the offense and his teammates, he will start. I give it 2 more games, max.

The kid hadnt played for a month before Thursday. He played a lot better in the first half than in the second, by his own admission. Sounds like a conditioning issue. And lets not forget...with Williams at the point, the team has averaged 10 more points per game than it did before hand. He and Frank must be doing something right.
For the record... Harris and Parker have gone up against each other twice already this season. In the first game, a Dallas win at home, Harris scored 18 points and held Parker to 1 of 11 shooting. Dallas won. (Also in the starting lineup that night: DeSagana Diop and Maurice Ager) In the second, a San Antonio win at home, Parker scored 23 points and held Harris to 2 of 11 shooting. San Antonio won. Harris' turn.

Lawrence Frank is a genius. Marcus plays great with the starters (minus Krstic, he's just sucking right now), and to have Devin come off the bench first (ahead of Boki, thank god) is genius. It gives us a big spark and major change of pace. IMO if Parker gets taken out when Marcus does, no one on the Spurs' bench can hold down Devin, especially with one of RJ/VC out there for Bowen to guard. BTW, it's nice to see Stro get minutes, but disappointing to see it happen at Sean's expense. If I could choose, I'd insert Sean in the lineup ahead of Nads and give Nads spot minutes, to take pressure off of coming back from injury.

It probably has more to do with conditioning than anything else, like someone else said. I think Marcus can beat up their 2nd unit but he won't be able to stay with Parker at all.
Lawrence Frank has always brought players off the bench for a few games, and he's always let borderline rotation players fall into and out of the rotation to give them a chance. It's his coaching style, and I like it a lot, because it means nothing is given, and everyone has a 5-6 game stretch to prove, or not prove, that they can play. I agree that it's probably a conditioning issue with Harris, but it's also a signal that everyone on the team gets the same treatment.
Because he doesn't start doesn't mean he will get minutes. I'm happy because this shows confidence by Frank in Marcus Williams and that is what he lacked all year. Devin said he was happy comming off the bench most likely because he gets off to a hot start against 2nd stringers.

The bench scored 40+ pts. why screw w/ that.
