Should Krstic start? Who should start instead, and why? I don't think Krstic should start. I think that he's still not fully ready to play since being out for so long, and that some time coming off the bench might actually help him. It might be pressure, confidence, or just from not playing for so long, I'm not really sure. Whatever it is, I'd rather see him get over it coming off of the bench, instead of helping to dig us in a whole early. In place of Krstic, I believe Sean should start, merely because of the fact that he played very well when he started alongside Josh. We saw how much we missed Sean once he was taking out of the starting lineup. And we could use some scoring, rebounding, and shotblocking that Sean could definitely provide. Rookie wall or not, I'd rather see him start, even if it is from limited minutes. I don't think Stro should start because he doesn't always give his all. Boki, because he's sucking this year. I put him as an option because, hey, why not? Diop, on the other hand, shouldn't be out there with Boone. IMO he's a similar type of player as Boone, that is, he provides good post defense, good rebounding and shotblocking, and the ability to finish at the rim (on most nights). I'd rather bring him in to "replace" Boone, that is, to come in and provide the same things that Boone provides when he isn't in the game. Now tell me what you think.
If you think Krstic should start, you still have to vote for his replacement or you can't vote! I guess you can just vote for who you think should start if he doesn't.

There was a rebound in reach, yet he just stood there and looked at it. Happened a few times, actually. It sorta disappointed me, because I pictured him as more of a hustle player.

Now tell me what you think.</div> I agree with you 100% Boone and Williams have chemistry and they were putting up excellent numbers while on the floor together... Diop is an excellent backup for Boone who can give a valuable 15-20 minutes when needed, as for Stro he would be a perfect backup for Sean as his skill sets are similar and would allow for the team to be able to maintain offensive rhythm at least in the froncourt. Meaning for now Nenad should be glued to the pine.
Sean shouldn't start, but should get minutes off the bench. I'm too worried about his foul tendencies and long-term conditioning to give him starters-minutes; I don't think he'll be as productive during this part of the season. Krstic should be brought off the bench. It's really sad, since he was such a good player a year ago. He's not having a positive impact out on the court and shouldn't be entitled to playing time. Someone who is making a case for more playing time is Diop. I'd start Boone at the 4 and Diop at the 5. I think there's a lot of potential there with a defensive, athletic unit.

No the first poll. And i think Sean should replace him. He and Boone are pretty much a proven combo. Diop should stay benched so he can be our defensive anchor from the bench.
Start Williams instead. Krstic isn't all back yet, and getting something like 13 minutes, mostly against opponents' starting lineups isn't going to help him get back into a rhythm - and it's not helping the team either. Its pro forma at this point, and accordingly pointless. Give Williams the chance to run with the starting lineup and at least see what happens.
i think he should start. as crazy as ti sounds i think its the only way he could get back to the way he was before injury. i think if we benched him he will lose all his confidence and just get worse. i was reading some stuff on his blog he said he rather start then come off the bench cause he is still fresh from warmups. give ti couple more games he should be back soon

Just throwing this out there, just because he's hitting it now, doesn't mean he can do it consistently. He's never been what I would call "consistent" with his jumper. And you're right, he did play center while in Memphis. However, there's a difference between playing the spot and playing it well. And while he played the spot, he didn't do it that well.
I'd give Krstic a bit more time. Hard enough finding your rhythm in midseason let alone while the style of your entire team changes around you. I don't get why he still can't stick that jumper! He was playing better back in November than he is now, yet the knee is stronger. I don't get it. It has to be all mental at this stage. He looks like his confidence is shot. I see a lot of slouching shoulders and head down.
I think it's a good thing to find out now if he's worthy of a big contract than when he's on another team next year, or playing like crap making big bucks on the Net's payroll. So I'd vote to let him start, giving him major minutes unless the Nets can close in on the 6th seed. -Petey

It makes sense to see if he is still capable of being that player. If he is, his contract could be a major bargain. It wasn't long ago it was thought 6 years/$60M wasn't out of the question for him. He almost definitely wouldn't have been a Net at that price.
The problem is that Frank - never the best at figuring out rotations - is left with a whole bunch of big men that he's trying to integrate into the team, along with trying to get Krstic back into the rotation. As long as he's getting 10-15 mpg, it's pointless to start him.
Did the Spurs look like they had any trouble defending the Nets' simple pick and roll offense? Of course it worked against the Bucks, but having no inside scorer hamstrings the offense against even decent defensive teams. Since the Nets don't have an alternative player right now that can draw attention in the paint, it makes sense to try and get Krstic back to where he was. He was a player that had to be respected if he caught the ball within 8 feet of the basket, and not having that is the #1 reason the Nets are one of the worst offensive teams in the league even though they have two big time scorers. That's why it's hilarious that some people watched last night's game and wanted to get rid of Nenad. All it did for me is underscore how the team is going nowhere unless he improves at least to the point where he has to be guarded. Is it great that he's the key? No. But that's the situation. The rest of the team is improved enough that they would be a tough out in the playoffs if Nenad can contribute.
