Ive always been a fan of big man shooters and obviously krstic is out only bonfide one and he's not so bonafide right now so i guess that makes him one.......

anywho, i hate it when big men hesitate to shoot the ball, it stalls the offense and allows the defense to sag off and force the big man into a tough pass and completely screws up the halfcourt offense, same reaso n we were not good in the halfcourt with collins, he would get the ball, hesitate to shoot while looking for the guard while the defender is sagging off and doubling already. when those three gentleman in the thread title get the ball, they cant hesitate to shoot, even if they miss, it lets the defense know they are willing shooters beyond 5 ft and makes them a threat forcing the defender to aleast come out. thats why the guards on this team end up taking, tough long jumpers with a hand in there face, while the big men are uncovered.

if im not mistaken, boone has not missed a jumpshot all year.

I hate Boones jump hook. Swift and Diop have nice jumpers along with Williams too.

It's rare to have this many bigs with such good form.

The only one out of the 3 that should be shooting jump shots is Swift. Diop nor Boone are good shooters.

Diop has very little offensive talent. Most of his points are going to be scored on put backs and layups. His jumper is basically nonexistent. And I don't know where you thought Boone has a good jumper. I've been watching him since his UConn days, and he really doesn't have that great of a jumper. It's erratic at best, and saying it's good just because he hasn't missed any doesn't say much. Anyone can go 1 for 1 and that doesn't make them a good shooter. Honestly, the only bigs that should shoot jumpers are Krstic and occasionally Swift. Krstic has shown in the past he can hit the jumper, but he's clearly struggling with getting his legs and timing back. And Swift can hit it on occasion, but it's nothing to rely on. As I said in a previous thread, most of Swifts points are going to be garbage hoops. He relies too much on his athletic ability to get points and has never really focused on getting the fundamentals, like a mid range shot, completely down pat.

so he makes like 5 jumpers this entire season and due to that, you want his jumpshot to be used as a part of the offense? And no.

Sadly enough, our most consistent shooter out of the big men on the team is Sean Williams. Not saying Sean's a good shooter...it's just that everyone else sucks.

I just looked it up. Swift's made 20-61 shots. And you guys want him shooting? Duh. [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

    Josh is 10-26. No thanks.

    Diop is 6-18. Pshhtt.

Sean is 32-67. Respectable, but still not all that great.

Really, guys...I'm not even taking in the far away shots. Those totals are only out of shots outside of next-to-the-basket shots (dunks/layups I guess?). If I only take the far outside totals, it's far worse for everyone but Sean.

    check it out for yourself.

The only decent one in that bunch is definitely Sean, at least he's hovering around 50%, which is respectable.

The one guy everyone here wants to see shoot (Swift) is actually the worst out of those three percentage wise. Well, at least there's not stats to back up when I was saying that you guys overrate Swifts effectiveness from the outside.

Yeah the only one who I want besides Krstic is Sean, and even then I'd prefer it if he developed a back-to-the-basket game first.

Still (as was scouted on ESPN a couple months ago), he makes pretty good decisions on when to pull up for a jumper, so I think he should be encouraged to keep doing what he's been doing.

As for Diop or Boone? No way. Swift? I'd prefer it if he stuck to driving to the basket, as that's what he's better at.
