Someone send him a note telling him S2 is where the Nets fans post now.

Looks like Hollinger was right about our chances... we're 2.5 games behind Atlanta and they have more favorable schedule. So, I'm no longer a believer [IMG] Damn, 9th place is the worst possible scenario for any team and this time, I'm afraid, it's ours.

P.S. BTW, our updated chances - 4% [IMG]

    ...and now 3%

Also, he has Dallas at 68%, but his computer doesn't "know" Dirk is injured. If they don't beat GS Wed night their chances plummet because they won't have the tiebreaker vs GS or Denver.

Looks like we're only getting 1 first rounder this year after all...

I don't know if you can say that yet.

There is still a long way to go to decide those final two spots, and really all the seeding in the west. And the division races are still pretty close. Denver is only 2 1/2 back...if Utah screws up down the stretch they could still win the Northwest.

It's going to be very interesting to see how this ends up. One little screw up could really end up costing a team big time.

I'm just making a prediction, you're free to disagree. The Mavs are on a 10 game losing streak against winning teams (I think), and Dirk's not due back real soon. It's going to be difficult for them to beat GS Wed, they have a tougher schedule down the stretch, they're missing their best player, the other teams have no major injuries, and they're on the wrong side of the tie-breaker. Even if Denver catches Utah, the Mavs would also have to catch Utah to get in (they're 3 behind) if they don't finish ahead of GS, so that's almost moot. If I were a gambling man I'd put money on no playoffs for Dallas and only one pick for the Nets, but I hope I'm wrong. It's not as though Kidd hasn't beaten the odds before.
