I never knew telling jokes was one of the top measurements of a quality coach.

No, it isn't. Anyway, I don't know if someone who has never coached before is the answer for this team. We need a guy who's proven as a coach who can help youngsters develop and a guy who has been through a rebuilding process before. I wouldn't mind Mark as an assistant coach, though, helping out now and then and giving Marcus and Devin some tips.

They won't hire Marc because he might get the job done.

I rather see mark get some experience as an assistant coach before he's a head coach. I don't think you can go from TV analyst to head coach. There is some practical experience on how to run a team as a coach that he needs.

Has anyone ever become a head coach with zero coaching experience?

Lmao I can see it now.. Him calling timeout to take Marcus out of the game but instead of explaining what he did wrong just telling him "Your better than that Marcus. your better than that!" And then whenever someone questioned his ethics he would give them a quick "I'm firm but I'm fair."

    Johnson only lasted 11 games.
At least Bird worked in the Celtics front office for 5 years prior to being named a head coach.
Thomas also ran the Raptors front office prior to coaching the Pacers.

That said, both Bird and Thomas had some success coaching the Pacers. Maybe that's where Mark should be head coach?

And then teach them how to handle with being traded for a one hit wonder.

    How about Rick Carlisle?

I always thought he was a good, underrated coach. Maybe he could be good for the Nets...IF Frank doesn't work out...and gets fired for some reason.

Much better dude. Wasn't that hard, was it?

Now I can reply. As I've said before, unless we have a solid candidate to replace Frank, someone who knows how to develop youngsters and coach a young team better than him, firing him is unnecessary. Trading VC and RJ in the draft would be a good move only if we can secure a high pick, expiring contracts and some very talented youngsters in exchange. Thorn and Kiki aced the Kidd trade, and they showed that you can always get more than 40 cents on the dollar for stars, unlike what Toronto and Memphis did when they traded VC and Gasol.
