kinda a let down from some of the rumors that included Shogun. The UG is griping about the card, I still think it will have some great fights. GSP vs Serra is HUGE as GSP is a favorite of mine.
I should note that these two fights are (as of yet) unconfirmed by the UFC: 185-lbs: Ed "Short Fuse" Herman vs. Demian Maia 185-lbs: Jason Day vs. Alan "The Talent" Belcher
actually Day vs Belcher is confirmed. just Herman vs Maia isn't so far http://www.ufc.com/index.cfm?fa=eventDetai...rd&eid=1082
can add this fight too <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Brad Morris vs. Cain Velasquez Added to UFC 83 by Dann Stupp [mmajunkie] on Mar 08, 2008 at 10:50 am in - News - Heavyweights Brad Morris (8-2 MMA, 0-0 UFC) and Cain Velasquez will make their UFC debuts when they meet at next month's UFC 83 event. The organization today announced the preliminary-card bout on UFC.com. UFC 83 takes place April 19 at the Bell Centre in Montreal and features a main event between UFC welterweight champion Matt Serra and interim welterweight champ Georges St. Pierre. With the addition of the Morris vs. Velasquez bout, UFC 83 now features 10 official bouts -- and it could become 11 if a long-rumored bout between middleweights Ed Herman and Demian Maia is made official. Morris is a veteran of King of the Cage and BodogFIGHT. The Australian has won eight of his past nine fights, which includes three submissions, three knockouts and two decisions. His only career losses were to Jim York (9-1) and the UFC's Soa Palelei (8-2). Velasquez, meanwhile, has been a long-rumored UFC recruit who earned a contract after just two professional fights (both were won via knockout) with Strikeforce and BodogFIGHT. The Arizona State All-American wrestler trains with the American Kickboxing Academy and had been lauded by his teammates as a future contende</div> I'm interested in seeing Velasquez because I heard Jon Fitch rave about how good this guy is gonna be and Fitch doesn't come across as a guy who hands out compliments a lot.

We probably won't get to see his fight but ANY heavyweight prospect is worthwhile as the division is not great right now.
I think the abandoned UFC in the UK has created the Gap. Got 4 hours of UFC action coming up next Wednesday though also got WEC on TSN tomorrow night. Still can't wait to see GSP win I'm also hoping Joe Dorkeson wins too
Man I am psyched for this UFC, GSP, Bisping and Macdonald are some of my faves and theyre all in it. Also I am excited to see how Bisping will do in a lower weight class.
Some bad blood between McCarthy and Bisping will hopefully add to a lackluster card. What is Charles McCarthy doing spouting off? Not a big fan of the count after the Hamil fiasco but I hope he ruins McCarthy.

I hope Bisping beats him to the WEC
I kinda like his cocky attitude, quite typical Brit cockiness. some guys can pull it off, others can't.

Looked like there were several thousand people at the weigh-ins. Biggest pops went to GSP, Mike Bisping, Sam Stout, and Rich Franklin, in that order. Killer boos and catcalls for Matt Serra, normal boos for Rich Clementi, Travis Lutter, and Mac Danzig (for some reason). They booed really hard when Serra came out, then after he squared-off with GSP for pictures, Mike Goldberg interviewed him and you couldn't hear what either of them were saying because the crowd was roasting Serra. Interesting moment when he was on the scale with two fingers up on each hand saying "two times motherfuckers!"
watched them this morning on UFC.com, couldn't heard the boos for danzig too much, but he is facing a Canadian so no surprise. lots of fighters had to get naked to make weight.. was funny to watch the UFC ring girls shuffle off to the side and try not to look at the stripped down fights should be some good fights tonight!
