Lovely: <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>GM John Paxson suspened second-year forward Tyrus Thomas two games for an unexcused absence from Wednesday's practice. Thomas will serve the suspension during Chicago's next two games, sitting out the game against Cleveland on Thursday at the United Center and Friday at Boston. More details to come</div> Bullet, meet foot.
No offense, but you guys seem to have problems with guys taking responsibility and acting like professionals.

I hope Paxson cans Boylan at the end of the year. Ben Gordon and Tyrus Thomas seem to dislike Boylan a ton, he is screwing with their roles, and they're confused as a result. Normally, I would be opposed to a player doing this type of stuff. I've especially haven't been impressed with what Thomas has done this year, or how he has acted professionally, but given what Boylan is doing, if Tyrus is protesting, I fully support Tyrus in his efforts.

Here's an update from the Trib: <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Thomas, who lives with his uncle, didn't contact the organization about his absence. According to sources, the team made several attempts to reach Thomas, including sending people to his house. Paxson has been critical of, in his words, "personal agendas" permeating the team this season. He opted for a strong suspension over a fine because Thomas' absence was unexcused. A source close to the NBA Players' Association said Thomas' representatives plan to file a grievance.</div> Woohoo! 4 day weekend!
Tyrus Thomas is cocky as hell. I was ball boy for a couple of games for the Rockets and I sat by Chicago's bench and this dude would cuss non-stop. Every second he'd be cussing and he'd think he's badass. I dont understand man. These guys get paid millions of bucks for something they enjoy and they cant even come to practice???
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (BG7 Lavigne @ Mar 5 2008, 10:10 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Thomas is probably protesting Boylan for only playing him 8 minutes.</div> That is precisely what the Sun-Times says Tyrus was doing. http://www.suntimes.com/sports/basketball/...030608.article# I mean, I guess Tyrus can do whatever he has to do, but basing your walk-out on playing time meted out in a game during which you averaged 24 fouls/48 minutes makes you look kinda stupid. IMHO. Yeash. This was supposed to get easier with jettisoning Wallace, not worse.
Hanley's got quite a bit more info there, <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Bulls head coach Jim Boylan was asked if Thomas had apologized to the team. ``You've got to talk to Tyrus about that,'' Boylan said. Told Thomas was not talking, Boylan said: ``I guess that's his right, he can speak or not speak.'' Sources said Thomas blew off the practice as a protest for being benched for all but eight-plus minutes Tuesday in the win over Memphis. Thomas was scoreless, had one rebound, and picked up four fouls in that game. Boylan tried to make light of the subject: ``It was a one-game suspension but Griff [Adrian Griffin] and Ben Wallace called and said we should make it two. So we decided it was probably the best thing.'' But Boylan knows this is not something the team needs in what has been a soap opera season. ``It's disappointing,'' Boylan said. ``It's just disappointing to me at this point in the season we're dealing with stuff like this.''</div> What a bunch of ass clowns we've got on this team. Sheesh.
A bit more from the trib. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Asked if Thomas had explained to the organization where he was or why he didn't call to inform the team of his absence, Boylan said: "You'll have to talk to Tyrus about that." A source close to Thomas said he eventually told the organization he needed to clear his mind. One of Thomas' representatives said in a phone interview late Wednesday that Thomas' absence was for "personal reasons."</div> Yeah, blowing off practice is always a good way to clear your head. :|
