LeBron = **** yes. That means Kobe should've got it the past two seasons. Plus, he's the biggest ****ing p u s s y on earth. 5 games for a sprained finger? You ****ing bitch, Kobe's got a broken, torn pinky...

KG = Yes, he missed a decent amount of time for an injury ..

Pau = Not going to happen, New Orleans needs to be a top seed in the west for it to happen.

Yeah, I'd be pretty pissed off. Kobe would be as well, which means he'll come into the playoffs on a mission. Seeing how well he's played these last two games pissed off, that may not necessarly be a bad thing...

If anyone but Kobe or Paul wins, I'd be pissed.

I've noticed that on ESPN, one of the major things they keep bringing up are LeBron's scoring numbers being higher than Kobes. Yet I recall in the past, people used to say scoring wasn't enough if Kobe was the scoring champ the previous 2 years. What's up with that? I don't deny that LeBron is a great player, but I hate him for the sole reason being that he is the NBA and the media's golden child.

ditto. Im fine with Paul winning it and Kobe coming in 2nd. There is arguement there. Not Lebron though... I'd be royally pissed.

If LeBron wins this year, whatever credibility that award has left, will be thrown out the window. I'm sure Kobe will prefer his 4th championship ring and a Finals MVP over a regular season MVP.

These idiot writers just need to ask LeBron, he'll tell them that Kobe is the best player in the game by far and deserves that MVP. Same with probably over half the league.

Kobe's offense is just as potent, if not more, than LeBron's. He's a far better defender, and still has an edge in the clutch.

The funny thing is, Lebron has already said mutliple times that Kobe is the best player in the league. A couple of weeks ago, they asked him what he thought were his chances for winning the MVP this season, and he replied by saying, "if Kobe hasn't won the MVP yet, I don't see how I will." Or something along those lines

Dirk said Kobe took over the last game and that he should win it too. Lebron and Dirk? That's enough for me. Send it to LA baby!

David Stern will do anything in his power to prevent Kobe from winning the MVP, even paying the media not to vote for him. But in the end, it will just look too obvious. Stern is stuck in a rough spot. Give his arch nemesis Kobe Bryant the MVP, or expose the MVP award as a complete joke. He's leaning towards the latter, he really wants to, he's aching to rob Kobe of the MVP, but will he have the guts to pull it off? We'll see [IMG]

If Kobe doesnt get it this year... he will NEVER GET IT...

His stats will almost surely drop because of our dominating lineup next year... that being the case he will miss out on one of the essentials in winning the trophy... monster stats

although we will still have a winning record which would be more important(we will have this though and may win back to back titles)

but still!!! GIVE CREDIT WHERE ITS DUE!!!

if F****** Dirk Nowitzki won it last year WITHOUT being the BEST STATISTICAL PLAYER (KB is second to Lebron) but with the BEST TEAM RECORD (Lakers are 2nd in West)... then hell! Kobe deserves it this year. period

There's no doubt in my mind that I'll be pissed. Kobe deserves it more than anyone this year. He's got his team in 2nd place in the ungodly stacked Western Conference, all while playing with a torn ligament and broken pinkie.

What has LeBron done? Sure, his stats are pretty and what not, but he's in the East. And I've been saying this for weeks now that, if you're in the East, you're name should be thrown out of the MVP voting. No one from the East deserves it this year because that conference is as pathetic as it's ever been. At this point, three teams that are below .500 can get in the playoffs. Basically, LBJ is beating up on piss poor competition on a nightly basis, while Kobe is playing some of the best teams in the NBA.

Lastly, I think they shouldn't even bother to look at LBJs 4th quarter numbers. They've been terrific, there's no doubt about it, but he's doing a huge chunk of it in garbage time. The only time Kobe plays the 4th is if they need him, especially recently. That's why his 4th quarter points are far fewer than LBJs.

And if these last couple games don't show why Kobe is the MVP, what will? He torched the Mavs and the Kings for 17 in the 4th quarter on back to back nights, leading us to a W each time. What more can you ask for an MVP?

I'd only be upset if LeBron wins it just because the media hypes him up so much. Paul has a good chance depending how the Lakers do in the stretch.

MVP means Most VALUABLE Player. Not the "best" player.

It's not clear Kobe is most "Valuable," but he is arguably the "Best."

The measure might be that if you took Kobe off the Lakers, would they drop off a lot? Seems like we've seen that scenario in the past few seasons, and the dropoff isn't that big.

Now, take Nash off the Suns last year or year before or year before, and they pretty much stunk it up.

Of course, there's some politics to it. Maybe Dirk won last year because he was due, not because he was most valuable. Tho if you took him off the Mavs, they probably wouldn't be anywhere near as good.

Denny, that's a joke. Laker fans have made that argument before and got laughed at. If that was truly the case, then Kobe should have had every MVP since 2005.

If there's no Kobe, I doubt Pau is a Laker.

If you took Kobe off the Lakers, they'd be bottom feeders out West. Kobe is the heart and soul of this team and the reason why they're as good as they are.
