<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>"It is like that song on the record player that is stuck on the same song, and it keeps playing and playing," Kidd said. "That is who we became after that. That team, kind of. We played at one level until it was desperation and then we started to play our best basketball and then kind of relaxed.</div> http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/basketba...blaming_me.html
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>"I didn't quit on the team," said Kidd, who will face his old team on Saturday in Dallas. "The ride was over. At the end of the day, I gave everything that I could give to the Nets. There were no more rabbits that I could pull out of the hat. There were no more rabbits that Rod (Thorn) could pull out of a hat. That is as far as they could go. I took them as high as I could."</div> I agree with this excerpt. Believe it or not but I still can't get over the fact that Kidd is gone. He really represented the team. When you thought of the Nets; first player that come to your mind would be Jason Kidd. Sad.
He mailed it in plenty of nights and now he's just scrambling to try and save face. The sad part is the media will run with this because it's easy to just dismiss NJ as we struggle while Dallas are being considered finals contenders now he's with them. The media like winners and will find a way to spin the history to match anything they murmur. Our 'leader' spent more time pining away for stars we didn't have while constantly reminding anyone within earshot how mediocre he felt the team was than he did actually leading this team. Truth or not it's understandable why nobody fell in line behind him. He was the Nets for nearly his entire tenure here but this season was disgusting with how he quit on this team triple doubles be damned. I have all the respect in the world for KG with how he handled the Minnesota situation and absolutely none for Jason and the way he dogged it for us. He quit plain and simple and anyone that believes otherwise should go back and watch the tapes a little bit closer.

I'm a Kidd fan, but I refuse to be bias towards situations like the one we faced this season. Kidd might say he put up on an effort this season, but his head wasn't in the game and neither was his heart. He began to show the same attitude we saw from many other players who wanted a trade. The way he handled the situation was completely awful, and that's just really upsetting. You expect Kidd to be professional but he proved that if it gets tough then you have to claw your way out, any way possible. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Oh and Joker I thought you hated Kidd?</div> Go die.
I don't get JKidd. It's so obvious that he quit on the team and was just padding his stats so that other teams would want to trade for him. He still thinks his game hasn't declined. Does he not realize that he can't defend a single player that plays his position? He can't even defend guys like Bdiddy or Deron, guys that are his size. I know that athletes can't be expected to be completely honest but they don't have to disingenuous. He could at least not answer the question.
JKidd is scum. His consistent off-court hoopla and on-court loafting has been one of the primary reasons this team has been piss-poor out of the gate this year. Yet he never places the blame on himself. He is the epitome of a quitter. Thanks for bringing this team to the Finals 5 years ago, may you never win a championship.
The fact kidd hasn't turned one triple double in Dallas reinforces to me that he was trying to get them in order to prove his worth around the league. Wasn't about winning. He was being a stat whore. He averaged one about every 4 games with the Nets and in 9 with the Mavs he's had none. Amazing how he's learned how to shoot over there. Up to 47% including 60% from downtown.

With the shooting, that was due to improve he's around 40 percent every year, and this year was down, so odds were he'd start hitting more down the stretch. The thing about Kidd is that in preseason he claimed this was the best Nets team he'd ever been on. What happened to that? He claimed others let go of the rope, but he did it faster than anyone and decided the team wasn't going anywhere pretty quickly, right during the first West Coast trip in Utah.

I always cut Kidd a little bit of slack, with him being mentally retarded and all. It must be really intimidating playing with so many NBA players that have, literally, twice his IQ.

Beyond the arguments footswalker made, Dallas has much better spacing with 3 good/great offensive weapons on the floor. -Petey

He's doing that with the Mavericks. He said he's working on his shot since he got to Dallas... working out with Dirk. I don't think there is one person that wouldn't want to shoot a high percentage, but it requires more off court work than getting rebounds and assists (at least for Kidd). Deep down I actually think Kidd wanted to see the team lose while he gathered his stats. It reinforced his position that there was nothing more he can do for the Nets all while showing he still was valuable to other teams. I love the guy for what he did for the Nets, but this year he was an ass that wanted a change of scenery and he sabotaged his team to get out.

The guy loves basketball, but he didn't want to be here, so it was very easy for him to just go out and do the things he loves most (grabbing rebounds, initiating the break and collecting assists) all while playing passive defense at times and not communicating. The guy is a great player... so actually it was very easy for him. For Antoine Wright it would be hard. Especially since, as the pg, Kidd was driving the car.
I have to kinda appreciate the irony here. This is like a smaller scale version of the VC-Toronto thing. All we're missing is Mavs fans telling Nets fans to get over it.
