<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The Boston Celtics will be without backup center Scot Pollard for the remainder of the season due to a torn tendon in his left ankle, according to a report in the Boston Globe on Wednesday. Pollard, who has played in just two of the Celtics' last 25 games, has had a lingering ankle injury since October that has yet to heal, according to the report. Pollard told the Globe that the original injury revealed a slight tear which became worse as shown on an MRI on Wednesday. "The season is over for me, it's frustrating,"? Pollard said to the newspaper. He planned to talk to a doctor before Wednesday's game and was uncertain when surgery would be scheduled, according to the report. Last week, the Celtics signed veteran forward P.J. Brown, who should fill Pollard's spot.</div> Source It would have been nice to be able to throw Pollard into the mix come playoff time if and when we play Cleveland (Big Z) or Orlando (Dwight). He'd be solid to throw in there to bang around and use his fouls for 5 minutes, especially against Dwight, but I can't say I'll be losing any sleep over this. In any event, let's hope that this doesn't mean that we've seen the last of Planet Pollard.
