I do miss him and I wish we matched the Kings' offer instead of signing Magloire. Its only a 1mil difference so I don't think he was that out of budget.

Moore's contract was for much longer.

Pretty sure Moore was older than Magloire too.

It was a calculated risk that... failed... poorly.

same here, it just reminds me of how valuable house and mikki were. whenever mikki took a jumpshot, you knew it was going in....literally

No he's not. He's making perfectly good money and should be secure for the rest of his life financially after basketball.

The real problem is that the Nets lost two shooters from last year's team: Moore and House. It's only now that they may be replacing Moore as Krstic regains his health. They did nothing to replace House.

In an NBA that allows zone defenses, teams need several players who can make open jump shots.

Would this team be drastically better with him here? no, problably not.

That being said...he always seemed like a good guy, and way one of that people that was real easy to like. In that sense, I miss him.

I miss Mikki's passion and his game, he was great offensively. That midrange jumper was money and he was an easy guy to root for, seemed like an easygoing guy that enjoys what he does. I'm happy for him as a fan since he deserved that money he got and was sad to see him go but it just wasn't in the cards.

    You're really undervaluing quality shooters.

Like was said earlier, not having players with Mikki and House's ability to hit shots are the biggest reason this team is where it is.

I wouldn't call Mikki a shooter...he could hit a jumper but IMO a shooter is someone who is consistent from 20+
