<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (NetsDaily)</div><div class='quotemain'>Lawrence Frank put the onus for the team’s poor play on Vince Carter and Richard Jefferson Thursday when he told WFAN that their play is a big reason “why we’re in the situation we’re in”. Without exempting himself, Frank said “our leaders have to show the way” through “preparation, effort, body language” and “the switch doesn’t go on all the time”. As for benching Sean Williams, Frank said it’s about “reinforcement of good habits vs bad habits”. Rod Thorn adds, “The coach doesn’t shoot the ball. The coach doesn’t allow straight lines to the basket.”</div>

I'm calling bullshit on Frank. "Reinforcement of good habits vs bad habits"?! Fuck that, just play the kid.

Malik Allen WAS a bad habit, and yet he still got playing time over Sean. Hell, Boki's got some of the worst bad habits of being soft and not playing defense, and yet he gets plenty of playing time. And when was the last time Vince and RJ really played defense for the whole game?

I don't see what's so confusing. Krstic has been coming on and looks better every game, and as far as the frontcourt goes, we basically swapped Malik Allen for Sagana Diop. A rotation of Krstic, Boone, Diop, Sean and Swift is waaaaay deeper and way harder to break than a rotation of Boone, Collins, Malik Allen and Sean.

He also said that Swift has really been taking the majority of Sean's minutes.

I think that that is fair - give Swift a chance to shoot himself in the foot with poor play, and give Sean some time to learn that playing time isn't a given, and that he's got to continue to work hard.

I can't speak in terms of game-to-game situations, but I like the way Frank handles his role players' minutes over the course of a season. He's very good about seeing what he can get out of everyone in the fairest way possible, and almost always ends up with the best players on the floor for the important games at the end of the season and in the playoffs.

Anyway, be patient. Sean will get his chance, but Swift's gotta look terrible for a few more games first.
