<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Mar 6, 2008 21:08 | Updated Mar 7, 2008 1:35 Mercaz Harav hit by capital's worst terror attack since April '06 By ETGAR LEFKOVITS A Palestinian terrorist opened fire at a central Jerusalem yeshiva late Thursday night, killing eight students and wounding 11 others, police and rescue officials said. The 8:45 p.m. shooting at Mercaz Harav Yeshiva in the Kiryat Moshe neighborhood broke a two-year lull in terror in the capital and sent students scurrying for cover from a hail of gunfire - a reported 500-600 bullets - that lasted for several minutes. "There were horrendous screams of 'Help us! Help us!'" recounted Avrahami Sheinberger of the ZAKA emergency rescue service, one of the first to respond to the scene. "There were bodies strewn all over the floor, at the entrance to the yeshiva, in various rooms and in the library." As security forces raced to the scene, the gunman fired round after round of ammunition into the library at the seminary, religious Zionism's flagship institution. About 80 students had gathered in the library to celebrate the Hebrew month of Adar II, which begins on Friday evening. ....</div> http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?cid...icle%2FShowFull
I don't understand why Israeli army doesn't go after Hamas leaders and either catch or eliminate them.
When they can get to them, that's exactly what they do - and they get condemned for it. Part of the problem is that Hamas leaders have a pronounced tendency to hide behind civilians, especially children.
IMO the Israeli should use more force, its about time they let the terrorists know that if they keep fighting they'll never get their own state. They should listen to Abbas and work with him on the peace plan.
Listen to Abbas? To what he says in English or to what he says in Arabic? He's no solution, and about as worthless a 'leader' as Arafat ever was, only even less effective. And Israel can say whatever it wants. The fact is that the world has increasingly ignored Palestinian failures to uphold any of their obligations under successive peace accords with Israel - and instead have ratcheted up pressure on Israel. As far as the terrorists are concerned, from Abbas to Hamas - and they have said this outright - they believe that their tactics are winning.
I know Abbas is not good but at least he's better than the Hamas leaders, and is willing to talk to Olmert, while Hamas don't accept the Israeli state.
Except that he's no better. He says in English what the world wants to hear, and then goes back and says the opposite in Arabic. The only real difference between the PA and Hamas is that the PA learned that gains could be made by pretending to negotiate. Hamas says it outright - the PA says that they want only so much, and then 'forget' to amend the PLO Charter, which calls for all the land - and who have maps that show Israel replaced by Palestine, in its entirety.
Thats true. So do you see peace ever happening in the Israeli - Palestine conflict? What do you think Israel should do?
As much as I'd like to say otherwise, it's not going to be anything Israel does, and probably nothing originating from the Palestinians either. Resolution will only come when a moderate Islamic state comes forward and assumes responsibility for resolving the crisis. Unfortunately, the Mid-East states currently masquerading as 'moderate' are in fact anything but, or are otherwise powerless to implement anything real. If the Khomeneiist regime in Iran is ever replaced by a government formed by its middle class intellectuals, that has the best chance of resolving the Arab-Israeli conflict.
Unfortunately, everyone has a vested interest in maintaining the status quo - as horrific as it is, particularly for the Palestinian people. [As opposed to their terrorist 'leaders' for whom I have a deep and abiding contempt]
I learned a long time ago not to start arguing about politics online, but all I'm gonna say is: this is disgusting. Plain horror.

Plain horror.</div> It is man. I have family in Israel and I heard about this about an hour ago. I don't know this needs to happen. A few days ago Isralies attacked Gaza I think it was and there was this huge thing about a little kid getting hurt. It's bad for sure, so now they come back and kill 8 students. I hate that this has to happen.
