Krstic has reached his potential IMO. 16 - 18 PPG is good for a center but he has absolutely no defensive skills. Boone is still young and promising but he's nothing more than the average starter, great role player. Williams is shown he can be a great defensive player with shot blocking, but his offensive skills are not as far advanced to be a prime scorer. Now Thabeet may not be an Emeka or LaMarcus in waiting but even those guys were just names in a draft who turned out to be quite talented. I think the Nets are just looking for that big man to break into the league and be a 20 - 10 guy for us so when 2010 comes around, a FA would have someone in the post to play with.</div> If that is what the nets are looking for Thabeet is not that guy trust me. He is not going to give you 20 points.</div> Oh I know that but I'm just stating while we need another big man. Doesn't hurt to look especailly at 7'3.

I know he is 7'3 but if that is a reason why he gets drafted that is a dumb idea. Thabeet can be good, but he needs to stay in school. Think a better verison of Jason Collins. He wont live up to his pick, trust me.
Comparing Thabeet to Jason Collins is not really that great of a comparison at all...Thabeet has the potential to be a Dikembe Mutumbo type figure in the paint, he's already a better shotblocker than anyone on our team (yeah say Sean Williams but then watch him fall for a shitty pump fake) Thabeet is a disciplined shotblocker...he doesn't bite on pump fakes. His upside is very good and his offensive game is improving...he's scoring 4.1 more ppg than last year while grabbing 1.6 more rebounds per game. His averages of 10.3 points, 8 rebounds and 4.5 blocks are solid...and he's shown flashes of greatness in some games such as his game February 2nd against Georgia Tech when he scored 24 pts, 15 rebounds and 6 blocks...his play in the Big East Tourney and the NCAA tourney will determine his draft position. As for Hibbert...he's a nice player but to me is the type of Center who fits a triangle offense...he would be horrible in an uptempo offense...
No doubt Thabeet is a good player, it's his offesnive skills that need some major work. He needs to stay. I just hope if we do draft a big it does not mean the end for the youngsters.

HELL 3 HUSKIES on the Nets
Gallinari and Batum are both top 10 picks at the wings. Gallinari is a SF with ball skills, while Batum is a scorer whose biggest knocks are that he coasts and plays without passion. Victor Claver is a combo forward. Omri Casspi is a small forward, but has disappointed this year. Both of these guys are probably a couple years away from contributing. Nikola Pekovic is a guy to keep your eye on. Plays for Partizan (Nenad, Mile), a 6-10 power forward who is a bull. That's about the extent of guys who could be first round picks this year, IMO from the international pool.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'> 5 Top picks in this year's draft We won't know the order of the draft until the May 20 lottery, but it's a good bet that the first four picks will come from my top four below. Note the dominance of teenagers ... 5. Anthony Randolph (18 years old), 6-11 freshman PF, LSU. I admit he's a longshot to go this high, but who knows? It's shaping up to be a four-player draft, followed by several murkier picks based on long-term potential. "Randolph has the most upside of anybody,'' an NBA scout said. "This guy, if you walked into his gym, you'd say, 'I'm looking at Chris Bosh [when he was a freshman at Georgia Tech]. He's from Dallas, he's skinny and left-handed, skilled and athletic -- all like Bosh. He doesn't shoot it quite as well as Bosh did, and we have a lot more to learn about him over the next two months. But he could become Chris Bosh.''</div> SI.com

Im pretty sure we will get the 7-12th pick , and i woudnt waste it on another Uconn product, it hasnt worked for us with uconn products just yet, so i wouldnt waste a good pick on them.

Just look at it Theres at least 5 better players that are younger than our players from uconn Boone and marcus Im not being bitter, im just saying maybe we should look somewhere else. Boone has been a really good pick for us, and he's really developed into a reliable rebounder and improved finisher underneath the basket. Marcus is less of a known comodity, having been plagued by inopportune injuries. He's shown flashes in the past, but has turned into a more consistent player since Kidd left; not bad for a guy picked at 21. Net Income has done a great job breaking down that year's draft (of the UConn guys), so I would encourage you to use the search function to do some reading. Specifically one number he found was that Josh Boone was second only to LaMarcus Aldrige in double-doubles by big men in that draft (if not all positions?) He might have even eclipsed him in the past month, i'm not sure.

I didnt know that he was second to Aldridge only so ill give you that, but i dont think he is the solution for our problems now, or the future, and isnt that what the draft is about? Getting the best possible talent around? And that is what we are searching for.
I guess I'm a bit confused since you've acknowledged that he's done well. "doesn't mean he has the talent" to do what exactly?
