Not a bad idea. Good vet presence who can score and defend. If Detroit can pick him up, I know he'll want to play and win. He'll be a great scorer off the bench.
why why why? They've got a good thing going, bringing in someone with that attitude is the last thing they'd want

It'd be a good move for anyone, as long as he understands what his role would be. I doubt he'd be a starter for Detroit, but the Pistons have needed a solid 3rd guard for the past few seasons. Detroit really needs a big, too, though they have decent depth. Maxiel plays kinda big, but he's not in actuality a big.
People realize that if they sign anybody that hasn't been waived yet right now they can't play in the playoffs right? So if it's a player like Marbury that would require a big role it would mess up team chemistry and the rotation. You want to have a set rotation going into the playoffs and you want guys to understand their roles.

It will be like putting a monkeywrench in the Pistons' system. Marbury is Marbury. Meaning he won't take a lesser role, not with the Pistons, not with anyone else. Sure he wants to win. Everybody does. But Marbury wants center stage in doing so. He can't, won't, pull off a Payton or a Mourning. Not in this lifetime. Detroit can win without him. To put in black and white, a picture of him should be in the dictionary, right beside the word selfish. From me to Detroit; Don't take the poison.
All this hypothetical talk seems pointless, because Marbury will never understand his role within a team if that role isn't "the man." The dude's been a cancer at virtually every stop of his career and has proven to not be a franchise player, but still carries a franchise player's sense of entitlement. I can't come up for a compelling argument for any NBA team to add Marbury, regardless of whether they're contenders, mediocre, or lottery-bound.
What happened to Marbury going overseas to play? I could've sworn he was planning on it, after leaving the Knicks.
