<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (NetsDaily)</div><div class='quotemain'>They’ve done it before, says Richard Jefferson. So why does everyone doubt they can do it again? Because, with 19 games remaining, the Nets probably need to win 11 to get into the playoffs. But it’s hard to find 11 games they can win on the remaining schedule. You would have an easier time finding 11 that they should have won in the first 63.</div> Facing Reality - Al Iannazzone - In the 'Zzone Twenty to go - Dave D'Alessandro - Nets Blast Woulda, Coulda, Shoulda - Fred Kerber - New York Post Nets Blog Sorry to bring in so much pessimism, but I really doubt we have a chance at making it. At this moment, we just don't seem good enough.
lol that is a great quote with finding the 11 in the first 63 games they should of won... SO TRUE... we gave away a lot of games to teams we should of PUT away and won with ease... but hey were the nets.... and our coach stinks?
11 games. that's it? No problem: 1) New Orleans (at home) 2) Miami (at home) 3) Memphis (at home) 4) New York (at home) 5) LA Clippers (at home) 6) New York (at NY) 7) Sacramento (at home) 8) Charlotte (at Charlotte) 9) New York (at home) 10) LA Clippers (At LA) 11) Golden State Warriors (at GS) Should I keep going...sure why not 12) Minnesota (at Minnesota) 13) Atlanta (at Atlanta) 14) Indiana (at Indiana) 15) Memphis (at Memphis)
There is still plenty of time to get in there. With as bad as the east is, if they can somehow managed to put even a small run together they could get in.... and then be destroyed by the Celtics or Pistons.

They've been spoiled by their previous success and think everything is easy for them if they kick it into high gear with like 19 games left. That is disrespect to the game of basketball. They need to taste failure so they know what it feels like and if there is any justice in this world. Besides, being in the lottery can't be a bad thing for a team with no low post scoring option outside of Carter and sometimes Jefferson (and isn't that pathetic). It is time to move forward in the offseason, dump Carter (or RJ) and their contracts and try to move forward and rebuild. I won't judge Thorn's impotence until I see what he will be doing in the offseason to right this ship. This year is only a transition year.
i dont want to make the playoffs, we'll get swept by boston or detroit, atleast with the lottery we have a chance at a better player plus i dont want out crappy team/arena on national TV and our empty crowds there to, it was so embarrasing last year when we played toronto and there had wolverine crowds andf then came back to NJ where we could barely hear anything, thank god for the sound machine to make faux noise, otherwise you'd be able to hear a pin drop

thanks for the Jim Mora mash up....fire Frank and hire Mora just so he can do the post game interview...shoot, maybe even pre game, halftime and timeouts....I'm pretty sure the Nets wont play any worse and i would have a reason to watch
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (NetsDaily)</div><div class='quotemain'>The Nets start Wednesday 12 games under .500, with a six game losing streak. Not exactly a predictor for post-season success, assuming they could even get there. Still, the team is only a half-game out of eighth place in the woeful East (if three games away from 13th). The beat writers crunch some numbers and suggest that yes, the Nets could be playing beyond April 16.</div> Chances are Nets still have playoff shot - Dave D'Alessandro - Star-Ledger Handicapping Nets' Race for No. 8 Spot - John Hollinger - New York Sun Playoffs? - Al Iannazzone - In the 'Zzone Fading Nets are true pretenders - Julian Garcia - New York Daily News Playoffs are still possible...but IMO not likely.
We're only a half game out, so I can't blame people for drawing comparisons to the past two seasons, but our schedule this year makes that a poor comparison.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (NetsDaily)</div><div class='quotemain'>When the Nets play the Jazz Saturday night, it will mark the end of the roughest stretch of their 2007-08 schedule. It shows. They’re 11 games under .500 with 17 to go. Yet they’re also still in the playoff picture, barely ahead of the Hawks and Bulls. So they’re getting a bit greedy, hoping to carry the momentum of their win against the Cavs to a seventh seed come April 16.
