I just send this to Netsdaily.com - don't know if they will use it however, so:

    http://www.nbainfo.dk/news.php?readmore=2529

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Christian Drejer has retired from playing basketball at high level because of the injured foot he suffered while playing for Florida Gators.

Ever since the injury several years ago, he has had problems with the foot.

Drejer says: I have really tried to fix the problems with my foot, but I never managed to recover. So despite feeling sad about retiring, it hasn't been a difficult decision. I simply can't play anymore.</div>

As a Danish Nets fan, this sucks [IMG]...

Maybe we can sign & trade him for a HOF player!!!

The Mavs traded someone who won't suit up for 1.

figures another draft pick bust, this is why we suck

all of our 03,04,05 draft picks have all been busts except for korver which we sold for cash,

the best way to build a championship contender is through the draft look at the spurs Duncan, Parker, and Ginobli all 3 were drafted by the spurs

Admittedly, I never supported drafting him but it is a shame to hear that his dream had to end this way.

Poor guy. Seemed like he really wanted to break into the NBA.

Too bad. I wonder if he was thinking about coming over and trying to make the NBA again any time soon. It would've been interesting to see that.

Don't say something like that unless you know what you're talking about. Just so you know, he was an Italian league all-star and was doing pretty damn well before getting injured. Ignorance is bliss, I guess.

Amen. Hopefully more guys around here will get involved in the international game. It really is intriguing to see some of the former NBA players/draftees play in Europe. In fact, I have a little feature I'm gonna do in the International Basketball forum about that same subject...stay tuned.
