Makes me believe Ariza might be lost for the season.</div>

Yahoo! was reporting something similar. To paraphrase: we'd be lucky to have him for the playoffs.

We can't rely on that injury prone bastard.

As for Newble, well, we do have just 14 players on our roster I believe. We could try him or at least someone else possibly. Whatever.

If we sign him, he will be eligible for the postseason right?

Anyways, I wouldn't mind Newble. Personally, I would rather go after Ruben Patterson. He was actually having a pretty good season with the Clippers, and I'm sort of shocked nobody decided to sign him yet. Either way, Newble or Patterson couldn't be any worse than Luke Walton, so why not give it a shot

The Los Angeles Lakers are considering signing free-agent forward Ira Newble, who Seattle waived shortly after they acquired him in the Cleveland, Chicago three-way trade.

Because he was waived before March 1st, he is eligible to be on a team's playoff roster.

    Yep, he's eligible.

Smush Parker, on the other hand, is not eligible. I'm sure Riley did that on purpose. [IMG]

If he's eligible then we might as well get him. He's a tough nosed player and he can play some defense. We have a 14 man roster anyways, so it's not like we have to get rid of someone in order to get him
