I just hope Stro gets some minutes tonight against the Cavs. With Ben Wallace and Z out, the Cavs are going to have to go with a bit of a smaller lineup, or they'll tire out Varejao and Joe Smith in no time. Stro (as well as Williams) might have a good chance to rack up a number of blocks against the smaller lineup.

Should be a good game - always is with these two teams. Nets are 2-0 against the Cavs so far this season, once when Lebron was out with his hand injury. Let's see if they can rise to the occasion. You know Lebron will want to put on a show for Jay-Z.

I call for 20+ mins for Stro!!!

Doubtful. Frank will run a small lineup in quarters 2-4, no matter how bad we play. And we'll lose by 20 anyways.

Optimism!!

You want to win the game, yet propose playing Stro over 20 minutes

I doubt he gets 20+ minutes, except if the team is getting blown out.

All I hope is that this team stops shooting jumpers all the time and that they'll attack the rim. Like you said this is a perfect oppurtinuty for Stro and SWill to step up with Big Z and Big Ben both out tonight. I'm not so sure coach Frank thinks that way though...

with whatever minutes he does get, if any at all, i hope he uses them to dunk on that clown varejao.

go where? at this point I think lottery is the optimal choice. 4 post season games where Frank with sour face explains blowouts does not appeal to me.

Edit: at the same time it's useless to want the Nets to lose, because it's inevitable. you just accept it, or in case of players - swallow.

on any given day or night Varejao's defense will own Stro's offense.

Must...construct...rep system...

Today's play of the game was Stromile sitting farther down the bench than Ager after player introductions. Ager was in street clothes!

Remember Sean's first play in off the bench? He ran down the court and pushed Joe Smith on to the ground. Not just a foul, not battling for position; he blatantly just shoved the guy to the floor for NOOOO reason.

I wore my Sean jersey tonight with pride, but that was just unexcusable.

Swift always sits at the very end of the bench. he has done that for his whole career.

You know what would be pretty crazy?

If Frank was ordered to sit Stro for the whole season, in order to get him to not pick up the player option. Wouldn't that be somethin'.

i have considered that, but then every once in a while he will get in the game briefly and i kind of toss that theory back out the window.

...

I, uh... agree...

It's a nice tradition of his. I think he got it from Nikoloz Tskitishvili. But I think it was Michael Olowokandi who used it first.

You know what would be pretty crazy? If a dumb, underachieving, 6'10" dunker actually had a fanbase. Oh wait....

It's painfully obvious that Frank HAS been told to make Stro's life miserable so that he does opt out. That was obviously (and rightfully so) their whole thinking when they traded for him.

He does have fans, and not just because of what he does on the court, but because he's a cool dude, has a great name, incredible athletic ability, and can dunk and block with the best of them. Because he's been on garbage teams his whole career, his numbers aren't all that special. Now he gets to a team with some talent, and there's 'business & politics' involved, as well as a huge number of bigs all on one team, and only so much playing time to go around.

I understand how it works, I'm not stupid. I just hoped that at some point, the fact that he has talent would overtake the need to dump his salary, and that he'd get some minutes.

I guess not.

I think their feet got a little tangled as they ran up court and then the push was a loss of balance.

Last I checked, the Memphis team that went to the playoffs and the Rockets weren't garbage teams.

In fact, in comparison to those teams, this Nets team is a garbage team.
