Here are my observations: 1. Vince Carter showed a hell of a lot of heart out there tonight. His jumper was poop, and he didn't score much, but his defensive effort and rebounding were sublime. The blocks on Lebron were nice, and that game-saving rebound off the missed FT was great, but he had a hell of a game in the 2nd-3rd quarters on the defensive end. 2. Lawrence Frank's game preparation was near perfect. His game plan to limit Lebron from driving into the lane was executed with enough success that it took the ball out of his hands. I thought Jefferson did a good job shadowing him all night. Kudos to Frank for organizing the team. No matter which big was in there, they knew to rotate and plug up the middle. 3. My only critique was not playing Krstic over the last three quarters. He was ON FIRE during the opening game, and while Boone and Diop were good enough to out rebound the Cavs, Krstic has been no slouch on the boards as of late. Plus, I think we really could have used that dimension on offense when we were losing our 17 point lead. The Cavs were doing a poor job guarding the pick and roll and Krstic was getting looks all night. 4. Our team defense deserves another mention. Besides not guarding Damon Jones (which made no sense after his initial threes) our rotations were solid.

Saw the highlights on ESPN.com, and that last Carter rebound was CLUTCH. Nice to beat anyone these days, much less the Cavs.
