I really liked Richard Roby when I saw him play at Littlejohn in 1993. I'm glad to see he's still getting it done in his 15th year of eligibility.

For some reason Hansbrough irritates the hell out of me. Can't stand the guy. Would rather see them go after a wing first unless you can get a franchise big, which Hansbrough is not.
i love hans but we need OUTSIDE SHOOTING BADLY!!!! other seasons, i would have loved Hans but not now

IMO he's similar to McRoberts...and probably on the same level as him, too. Why is it that the majority of really good white players in college can't make it at all in the NBA?

Not all that quick. Eh, I haven't seen much of either of them, so this is from like 1 or 2 games watching each of em. (So basically, I'm not 100% sure of what I'm talking about).
Hansbrough is the anti-McRoberts. The only way he's similar to him is that, ironically, is that he's white. I see him as a LeMarcus Aldrige with less range to his inside scoring.

Hansbrough is much more physical and plays more with his back to the basket. His nickname is Psycho... that alone should tell you his demeanor is nothing like McRoberts. But they both are tall and white... that much is similar.
My gut says it's never a good idea to pick a big white guy early in the draft, especially if he speaks English well.
He sort of reminds me of Othella Harrington. If his career turns out better than that, I'd call it a success.
Nicholas Batum would be an excellent pick. I think he'll be arguably the best swingman to come out of this draft.

He didn't feel much like celebrating, anyway. The Buffaloes' season had come to an end Friday afternoon in the Big 12 Tournament quarterfinals with a 54-49 loss to fourth-seeded Oklahoma at the Sprint Center. Roby was still trying to grasp the reality that he would never again put on a Colorado uniform. "The four years went by fast," said Roby, who said he was already having flashbacks to his freshman season. "But they're making jokes about it on ESPN. They called me 'a ninth-year senior.' I guess nobody expected me to stay here and see this season. "But I'm glad I stuck around for it. I learned a lot, playing this season for Coach (Jeff Bzdelik). I'm just excited for what my future has in store for me."</div> that is one kid who is going to be a solid pro, he turned down quick entries to the NBA to finish school, he's going to be a solid pick up for someone late 1st rd. or early 2nd looking for a SG

Gordon? Buddinger? Douglas-Roberts? Lee? Foster? </div> The lottery pick should be on the best available player, which in most cases will be a wing. I'm a big fan of both Batum and Gallinari. For the later pick Foster, Sam Young and the underrated Kyle Weaver are of interest to me. </div> I would like to think Batum and Gallinari will be available when the Nets pick, but I doubt it. Gallinari is one of those international guys who move up very quickly just before the draft. I wouldn't be surprised if he goes in the top 5. Batum, I can't imagine, will be there beyond #10. But they are high on my list as well. I saw Batum in the Hoops Summit last year and thought he was amazing. Have only seen highlights of Gallinari but what I saw I liked a lot. For the second pick, I would not be surprised to see the Nets go for Devon Hardin, who they worked out last year and liked. Overall, I like this draft. Last year's draft was WAY overhyped. Instead of being one of the great drafts, it could turn out to be mediocre.
