This game was about Vince Carter acting like a leader and making it his business to get a win. He lifted up the entire team with his effort tonight.
You wasted your time by putting additional poll options after Vince What more can be said about the guy? He played like he wanted to win us the game, and held that belief through 4 quarters. EDIT: Also Stromile had a good game and scored zero points; make note of that.
even though vince was spectacular, i thought Jefferson/Harris were so crucial. during the 4th when vince was on the bench, it was them to who kept the nets going and pushed the lead.
Boki came up big off the bench with some nice cuts to the rim on offense. But there's no doubt this game belonged to Vince. When he plays with that passion, watch the hell out.
What I was most impressed with by Vince is that despite the incredible amount of energy he had to exert on offense, he was still just as energetic defensively and continued to lead the team on that end of the floor. This was about as good an all round performance as you will see from any player in this league. Also, Harris was terrific. RJ was the solid scoring machine he's been most of the year. If only we could stop him from passing the ball.
Vince Carter: He was a leader tonight, in every possible way. On offense, on defense, he gave it all and had a special night. It actually surprised me a little how much energy he could give on both ends of the court and play excellent in both. You could tell he was also pushing his team, trying to get them up for this game. I'll quote Al Horford: "Vince made some unbelievable shots. And he knew what time it was. He understood the magnitude of this game and stepped up to the occasion." Devin Harris: This guy is a stud, I'm really happy the Nets have him to build around for the future. I've said it earlier, but he just understands how the game should be played. Just a great basketball mind, but also has the physical tools to be a great player. He's improving every aspect of his game and it shows everyday. Some say you might not be able to build around him (which is becoming harder and harder to argue for), but every team wants a player like Devin Harris. He's a real leader. Richard Jefferson: Again! Scored 30+ and I didn't even notice. Certainly has his deficiencies (ball handling and passing), but this offense was built for him, and he's showing how easy he can score within it. He's no Vince Carter, but a good partner to have, especially if he can continue to hustle and improve his defensive intensity. Also tried to be an emotional leader, which is good to see. Josh Boone: Quiet game for him. Seemed like ATL's frontcourt was a bit too athletic for him to handle. Sean Williams: This is a team that Sean can keep up with, and he had some nice moments, but still can look lost out there. Seems a step slower than earlier in the season as well. Stromile Swift: Played well. Blocked shots, and held his ground at the right times. A good game for him, with an empty boxscore. That's fine by me. Marcus Williams: I've been thinking about what ghoti has been saying--play Marcus 0 minutes. I have noticed that the game slows down when he comes in, and not to my liking, especially when contrasted with Harris. He played minimally and the Nets won, but... he's still a good shooter, and I think Frank needs to play him at SG and Harris at PG, not the other way around as he had in the CLE/UTH games. We need Devin's speed and tempo, but Marcus' shooting can always come in handy. Desagna Diop: This guy is as one-dimensional as they come. As good (?) as he is on defense, he even worse on offense. I don't understand why other players pass to him. I was hoping he'd block a shot though, so he could donate a mosquito net. Not his best game, but ATL isn't a team he would be best used against. Bostjan Nachbar: There is no other guy who benefits more from having a good passer like Carter, Harris, and Marcus on this team. They need him to stay focused and hot. Getting into foul trouble hurt him and the Nets (who had to bring in Hassell). He needs to be aware that he's not just a shooter, but a very important offensive cog. Played well tonight except for over-fouling. Luckily Carter more than made up for him.
This game (and the last couple home games) shows why we all love to watch the NBA. Exciting, end to end action. How many sweet dunks, passes and acrobatic layups were there tonight? Who cares about D, these are the type of games I love. There should be a couple more like this coming up, with Phoenix and Denver. With Denver at the end of a road trip, they should be ripe for the taking (if guys keep hitting shots).

I have a feeling Vince is gonna try to take over the next few games. And RJ - the way you put it was great. That's exactly what RJ has been known for, and successful in the past. That's what we need from him - to get his during the flow of the game, and to not take too many stupid shots. You can't argue those 2 had their best game of the year, here. Add in Devin's great play, and the next few games don't look so bad.
The game was amazing... who else watched it lived? i was at section 110 row 2 right behind the hawks game, there was another guy at like section 7 or something... i think he has the lottery balls as his picture

Instead of playing Marcus at SG, why not use Ager? He's a better two than Marcus. Marcus' best asset is court vision.
