since he stole Kidd from Phoenix.

Harris not only has played well, beyond my expectations, but last night he showed leadership qualities by simply being on the court when no one thought he would. Very Kidd-like.

Meanwhile, the grumbling in Dallas grows louder.

Not to mention Diop and first round picks in 2008 and 2010.

I love how he's improving but Lawrence Frank continues to kill Marcus Williams confidence. I've never seen this type of treatment to a player since..IDK he continues to do this to Sean and Marcus they must have drawn the short straw or something.

yeah...i myself thought it was an even trade with dallas getting what they need and we getting ours but with what devin has shown he can do and with his youth and scoring ability the kidd-for-harris trade looks to be even at the worst case for the nets...but we also got promising center diop who seems to like spending time in jersey, 2 1st rounders (1 unprotected as it is now) and financial wiggle room out of it. not to mention vc seems to be playing harder after kidd left...so right now, it looks like another rape case for thorn...

well, from the way Kidd had performed this year, I felt he was being overvalued by Dallas. He has been just a one-dimensional role player. That he was just tanking it and would drastically improve once he switched teams was something that was simply assumed to be the case. Whether he can become a force again--either this year or in the future--remains to be seen.

We all knew that he had slipped defensively, and couldn't handle the smaller, quicker PGs (and there are a bunch of them around these days); that his shooting was absolutely terrible; and that he no longer got to the line. In addition, his rebounds, while they look nice, are largely irrelevant, and I've long contended that he got as many as he did solely because the Nets' strategy on the defensive boards revolved around him. However, on the plus side, he has had a ton of steals since the trade.

    I can't say I'm not pleased, though.

    Trading away a HOFer (Kidd).
    Trading away a Zo.
    Trading away Marbury.

All returned quality, but giving up Kidd he gave up the most. The return would have to be very hefty to justify what he sent out.

I wouldn't be surprised if Avery Johnson was fired this or next season. He was clearly holding Devin back a notch or two.

I dont think he was holding him back as much as you say, but his teammates were. Even witnessing how well Harris has played on the Nets, think that Cuban would part with Howard or Dirk to get him back? He was the 3rd-4th option on a good team that made a deep run, and was seeded real well going into the playoffs.

I don't think the trade is that bad even without the picks. Devin Harris brings some elements that Kidd didn't have this season, and the upgrades at SG and C are tremendous, too. Right now I think final thoughts on the trade are incomplete until those draft picks are used, but that can only push the greatness of the trade through the roof.

Unless we squander them on Antoine Wright v2.0

Coaches do this all over the league. Nellie doesn't play rookies at all. Larry Brown use to not play them either. Compared to them Frank is a blessing to these guys.

It's all part of growing up and realizing this is a profession now with responsibilities and not just a fun game you play because it's easy for you and can get you chicks.

We got two starters who can play for ten years at least along with two 19 - 22 year old players along with Ager.

I don't know if you could have pictured a better offer for Kidd considering his demands and the problems we faced with trade rescrictions.

kidd now 0-7 against .500 teams...pressure is getting to kidd to win as well...last night at dallas vs the celtics kidd played really physical defense and even tried to take it in and bang with big guys down low trying to win one...all with little success...i am envious of boston's defense...
